We officially opened the doors to our brand new TAMS-AC Wellbeing Office at 522 Peel St and what a deadly day it was.
A huge thank you to our Chairperson, Aunty Cathy Trindall, for opening the space and leading us in such a proud way. Big appreciation as well to our CEO Damion Brown, Deputy CEO Kevin Duroux, Executive Assistant Jessica Roberts and Site Coordinator Sheleaka O’Leary-Cloake for their leadership and hard work bringing this space to life.
We were grateful to have Kevin Anderson MP, Luke Wakely from University of Newcastle Department of Rural Health, and so many community members and local organisations join us to celebrate this next chapter.
A special shout out to Dheran Knox for the smoking ceremony, and to his little offsiders who helped keep everyone in line and smiling.
And of course, none of this happens without our deadly TAMS-AC staff. Thank you to everyone who rolled up their sleeves, made the place look flash, fed the mob and came together to celebrate.
This new space at 522 Peel St will be home to our wellbeing and allied health services and is all about creating a welcoming, safe place for community and staff. Of course, our 180 Peel St office will still be the main place for people to visit and have appointments.
We’re proud. We’re growing. And we’re excited for what’s next.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to our Mental Health Awareness Day at Quirindi yesterday. It was such a positive day in the heart of town.
We were proud to have 7 local services attending on the day, taking the time to chat with community and share information in a relaxed and welcoming space.
A massive shout out to Brian Dowd and the Walkabout Barber team. They had around 80 community members come through the bus, and the feedback was nothing but positive! Fresh cuts looking deadly 💪🏾
We also want to thank our speaker Tracey Mc from SES, who did an incredible job sharing her story and starting important conversations about mental health. Her honesty and strength really resonated.

A big thank you to everyone who came along to our Mental Health Awareness Day at Viaduct Park. It was so good to see community come together to yarn, connect and look after our mental health.
A special shout out to Brian Dowd from Walkabout Barber and his team for showing up and giving back in such a big way. The fresh cuts and even better conversations made a real difference on the day.
Thank you as well to all of the local service providers and stallholders who took the time to be there, share information, have honest conversations, and remind community that support is always around.
We spoke about mental health, connected with each other, shared a few laughs (and realised some of us are not as good at throwing a football at a target as others), and created a safe space to just be. That’s what these days are all about.
From everyone at TAMS‑AC, thank you Tamworth mob for making it such a meaningful day. 🖤💛❤️
