Following yesterday's National Day of Recognition for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Health Workers and Practitioners, we're thrilled to launch our pilot program of Aboriginal Health Workers in Pharmacy!

Earlier this month, Vicki and Mel, two of our practitioners, visited Tamworth Discount Drug Store to get set up and ready to see clients. They were joined by pharmacist Lia Mahony. Together, they're working to reduce cultural barriers to health literacy and healthcare, helping people understand and use medication effectively.

This pilot was made possible through valuable community consultation and seed funding from the Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation.
