We welcome Dr Ruy da Assuncao who visits monthly from Sydney and has operating rights at Tamara Private Hospital. He is one of two Orthopaedic Surgeons who will be consulting out of Regional Specialists Tamworth.

We welcome Dr Cheng to our growing list of specialists at the Regional Specialists Tamworth!

Dr Qiuye Cheng is an experienced specialist Upper gastro-intestinal and Bariatric surgeon with extensive expertise in minimally invasive surgery. Dr Cheng specializes in metabolic/weight loss surgical treatments including gastric balloon, gastric sleeve, bypass, revisional bariatric surgery and weight loss medical options. He also manages upper gastrointestinal cancers as well as non-cancer conditions such as reflux, hiatal hernias and achalasia.

Dr Cheng hopes to bring his expertise in setting up a new comprehensive metabolic and bariatric service to Tamworth and look forward to assisting patients to fulfil their goals. With our multi-disciplinary approach to weight loss, let us be your "medical home" on this journey together!
