Please join us in welcoming Dr Zaqueo Fajardo to Peel Health Care.

Zaq has a strong passion for primary health care, community medicine, and geriatric medicine, and truly values comprehensive, continuous care that supports not just patients, but their families and the wider community.

Dr Fajardo’s journey into general practice began during nursing training, where home visits sparked a deep appreciation for the impact of caring for people in their own homes... an experience that continues to shape his approach to medicine today.

Zaq is excited to call Tamworth home, drawn to the town’s welcoming community spirit as well as the beautiful parks, country scenery, mountain views, and nearby national parks.

Outside the clinic, you’ll likely find him travelling and exploring new places, hunting down great cafes and restaurants, enjoying a quiet Netflix night, or staying active with pickleball, badminton, and table tennis. You could also find him enjoying bush walks and a bit of gardening.

Oh and fun fact! Zaq is a budding actor and proud Broadway enthusiast,
"collecting shows like souvenirs" - New York ✔️ London ✔️ and Australia next 🎭

Peel Health Care is incredibly proud to celebrate Dr Rachel Henderson, who has officially completed her GP training and obtained her Fellowship through the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM)!

This is a wonderful achievement and a testament to her dedication, hard work, and passion for rural and community healthcare.

We’re also excited to share that Dr Henderson will be returning from maternity leave around March 2026 — and will be re-joining us as a fully qualified GP. We can’t wait to welcome her back!

MEDICARE UPDATE

At Peel Health Care, we remain dedicated to delivering thorough, personalised, and high-quality medical care to our community.

We value the trust you place in us and strive to ensure every consultation reflects our commitment to excellence, continuity, and compassionate care.

From 1st November 2025, the Australian Government will introduce changes to Medicare through the Bulk Billing Incentive Program (BBPIP). The BBPIP funding offered does not cover key costs involved in running a quality general practice – including nursing care, medical consumables and administration.

While these changes may prompt some practices to shift toward bulk billing, Peel Health Care has made the decision to continue operating as a private billing practice. This approach allows us to dedicate the time required for each consultation while maintaining the high standard of care you deserve.

We understand that the cost of healthcare is a genuine concern for many individuals and families and we encourage you to contact your local Federal Member of Parliament.

Please join us in welcoming Dr Bronwyn Thompson to the Peel Health Care family!

Dr Thompson is a fully qualified GP who loves getting to know her patients and helping with all kinds of health concerns. She has a special interest in paediatrics, dermatology, and chronic condition management—but truly enjoys the variety that general practice brings every day.

She’s proud to call Manilla home (“beautiful town, beautiful community!”), and when she’s not seeing patients, you might find her tending her garden (currently mid glow-up), sipping a good coffee—or an evening Earl Grey ☕️—or enjoying time with her two favourite little people, her niece and nephew.

Oh—and fun fact! Dr Thompson once helped make costumes for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Opening Ceremony! 🪡 How cool is that?

We’re thrilled to have her join the team and can’t wait for you to meet her—we know you’ll love her warmth, humour, and genuine care.
