✨Working on ‘s’ blends in the space room. ✨

Sometimes speech therapy looks like working at a table and sometimes it looks like following a child’s lead.

Client Shoutout! 🎉

At Compass, we’ve had the pleasure of knowing Lucy for the past 7 years, and it’s been incredible to watch her grow.

Lucy recently completed an intensive 3-week therapy block over the school holidays. This therapy block focused on goals set by her family in collaboration with her Speechie, EP, Physio and OT! ✨

Here is what she achieved:

✅ Safer transfers through training and new harness support
✅ Improved ability to pull to stand for transfers
✅ Adaptive bike set up and practice, ready for fitness and community outings 🚲
✅ New walking frame set up, now stepping independently up to 10 metres
✅ Using eye-gaze technology to support communication
✅ Visual supports at home to help with routines and bathroom time
✅ Sensory strategies to support mood and hair brushing

🥳 Well done, Lucy and family, an amazing effort and teamwork all round!

Welcome to the team, Julia! 🎉💙

We’re so excited to have Julia join us as our newest Physio! Originally from the Central Coast, Julia moved to Port Macquarie to study at CSU and quickly found her passion in Paediatric and Neurological Physiotherapy. With a strong interest in rural health, she’s all about supporting people to reach their goals and improving access to care in our communities.

Welcome aboard, Julia — we’re so glad you’re here! ✨

✨It’s that time of year again! ✨

Our team support people with complex conditions and medical histories (it’s kind of our thing!), so safety is always a priority.

This month we’re refreshing our CPR, First Aid, and WHS compliances to keep our team ready and confident.

Thanks for providing top-notch training 🙌

Did you know proprioceptive input can help improve attention and self-regulation in children? 🤍

🤔 Proprioceptive input is the feedback your muscles and joints send to the brain. It helps us understand where our body is in space and how much force we’re using.
Think activities like pushing your feet against an elastic band on a chair, wall push-ups, or heavy work 💪

These simple movements can help:
✨ Calm and organise the nervous system
✨ Reduce fidgeting
✨ Improve focus and attention

Small movements can make a big difference 🌈
