Better Health South Tamworth will be closed on Monday, 6th October for the long weekend.
We will reopen as usual on Tuesday, 7th October.

We’re currently sending out follow-up messages and reminders to help our patients complete their MyMedicare registration.

You may receive a text from us with a link to register online – it’s quick and easy! ✅
Alternatively, if you're visiting the practice, our team may ask you to complete a paper form during your appointment.

MyMedicare is a new government initiative that allows you to formally register with your regular GP and general practice. This helps strengthen your relationship with your care team and allows us to better coordinate and tailor your healthcare.

We’re excited to share that the National Cancer Screening Register (NCSR) has launched the Lung Cancer screening program aimed at detecting cancer early and saving lives. ✅

If you’re eligible, you may now receive reminders for Lung Cancer screening directly from the NCSR — helping you stay on top of your health.

📬 Keep an eye out for reminder letters or SMS messages.
💻 You can now also manage your screening details online via www.ncsr.gov.au or by calling 1800 627 701.

We’re excited to share our beautiful new artwork proudly displayed at the practice. Created by talented Gomeroi woman Jodie Herden from BuggArt with support from the Primary Health Network. Hunter New England Central Coast Primary Health Network
The artwork’s theme is a connection to Country, community and local bush medicine— a beautiful reflection of healing, connection and culture.
It features:
🟠 Gumbi Gumbi – a local bush medicine, represented in the orange
🌿 Uraah leaves – another traditional bush medicine
🔵 Teal – the colour of healing
🌀 Gathering circles – a symbol of community, care and shared stories

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we work and live and pay our respects to Elders past and present. We recognise their continued connection to land, waters, culture and community and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
