🌿 A Gentle Step Back 🌿

As I step into this new season of studying to become a midwife, alongside caring for my family, I’ll be taking a step back from social media. 🤍

This space may be a little quieter, but please know — I am still here. I’m always just a message away, and my heart remains deeply committed to supporting women through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

While my availability in the birth space is more limited right now, I am still taking on clients where I can — so please don’t hesitate to reach out, as I may still be available for your journey.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding as I grow in this next chapter. It means more than you know. 🤍✨

With all the love,
Kristin xx

Last month quietly marked five years of this work.

Five years of being invited into some of the most vulnerable, powerful, tender moments of people’s lives.

I feel so deeply grateful — for every family who trusted me, every story shared, every birth space I was welcomed into, and every lesson this work continues to teach me. This isn’t just a business to me; it’s a calling I hold with so much care and respect.

To my past and present clients: thank you for choosing me, for allowing me to walk alongside you, and for trusting me during such a pivotal time in your lives. To future families: I can’t wait to meet you.

Five years in, and my heart for this work is as full as ever. 🤍

Love, Kristin xx

🤍 Overwhelmed with Gratitude – 2026 Update 🤍

I cannot believe that I am writing this post and it is not even the end of January. I am incredibly grateful to share that I am officially fully booked for 2026 up until September. The trust and support from so many families truly means more to me than I can put into words.

If you were hoping to explore my Doula support for September, October, or November 2026, I encourage you to reach out and book as soon as possible, as these remaining spots are very limited.

Thank you to every family who has chosen me to walk alongside them during such a sacred time. Your trust is never taken lightly, and I feel so honoured to do this work. 🤍

With deepest love,
Kristin xx

✨ A Bittersweet & Exciting Update for 2026 ✨

I’m so excited, and honestly a little emotional, to share that I’ve been accepted into a Bachelor of Midwifery program!! 🎓🤍

This has been a long-held dream and a deep calling; one that feels like a natural extension of the work I already do and love so fiercely.

At the same time, this news is bittersweet. The Doula Life is incredibly close to my heart, and stepping into this next chapter means my capacity to support families in 2026 will be much more limited than usual.

✨ I will still be offering Doula support in 2026, but my availability will be extremely limited. If you’re considering my Doula support for 2026, it’s best to book sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment.

Thank you to every family who has trusted me so far — and to those yet to come — for being part of this journey with me. I’m so grateful for your continued support as I grow, learn, and deepen my ability to serve women and families in birth.

Love always,
Kristin xx

✨A little update from me✨

Just jumping on here to share something from my private life. Yesterday I ended my childbearing journey and underwent a hysterectomy. I have been suffering from endometriosis, PCOS, and Adenomyosis for about four years now and I came to the difficult decision to undergo this surgery.

It was a huge decision for me, but I hope it helps me move on with my life and allows me to function more as opposed to being completely debilitated two weeks out of a month.

Originally, however, my symptoms were dismissed as 'just a period' and 'just ovulation.' Nothing was wrong with me, it was all in my head. I also was misdiagnosed prior to receiving a proper diagnosis. I am so thankful I found someone who believed me and who knew exactly what I had and what to do about it.

Please advocate for yourselves. Don't stop until you are satisfied with the answers. Do not take one doctor's word over your intuition.

You deserve better. Always.
❤️ Kristin xx

💖An End-of-Year Love Note💖

As 2025 gently comes to a close, I want to reflect and send so much love to the families who have trusted me with their stories, their births, and their hearts.

To my past clients-thank you for allowing me into some of the most sacred, vulnerable, and powerful moments of your lives. Your strength, your babies, and your journeys stay with me long after the birth room is packed up.

To my present clients-it is an honour to be walking beside you right now. I see your courage, your questions, your becoming. You are doing this beautifully, even on the days it doesn’t feel that way.

And to my future clients-I cannot wait to meet you. To hear your hopes, hold space for your fears, and support you as you step into this rite of passage in your own unique way.

Thank you for choosing me, for trusting me, and for reminding me every day why this work is soul-deep and sacred. Here’s to another year of holding, supporting, and honouring birth in all its forms.

With so much love,
Kristin ###

✨A Gentle Shift Back to Baby-Led Birth✨

There’s a quiet but powerful shift happening in the birth world — a growing recognition of the importance of patience in labour. More care providers are moving away from rigid timelines and “failure to progress” labels, and instead supporting baby-led labour, where time, positioning, and rest are honoured.

Emerging evidence continues to show that when birthing people are given adequate time, freedom of movement, nourishment, and emotional support, labour often progresses safely without the need for escalation. I have personally witnessed this at several recent births I've attended as well. This approach is helping reduce unnecessary inductions, augmentations, and caesareans — while improving satisfaction and outcomes for both mother and baby.

This is a reminder that labour isn’t a race.
Your body is not a machine.
And birth does not need to be rushed to be safe.

✨ Sometimes the most powerful intervention is simply trust, time, and support.

✨A Gentle Reminder: Your Birth Choices Are Yours Alone ✨

If you choose to birth in hospital — that is your choice, your comfort, your safety, and your intuition guiding you. And that is something to be respected.

In the birth world, it can sometimes feel like there are “sides:" hospital birth, homebirth, freebirth. But there is no hierarchy of strength, worthiness, or wisdom. There is only what is right for YOU.

You deserve a birth space where you feel secure, supported, and seen — whether that’s in a hospital room, your living room, or anywhere in between. Don’t let anyone make you feel less than for the choices that feel aligned for your body and your baby. What I do care about is that your rights and choices are respected and honoured!

All birth is sacred. All birth is powerful. All birth is valid. Don't let anyone tell you different.

📈CTGs: What the Latest Research Is Telling Us📈

There’s a big conversation happening in the birth world right now — and it matters for every pregnant woman. New 2025 research is shining a light on the overuse of continuous CTG (cardiotocography) during low-risk labour, and the findings are important:

✨ Continuous CTG has not been shown to improve outcomes for low-risk births.
✨ But it does increase the likelihood of interventions — including epidurals, instrumental births, and unplanned caesarean birth (notice I didn't say emergency).
✨ Intermittent auscultation (listening to baby’s heart rate at intervals) continues to be the recommended method for low-risk labours by most international guidelines.

What does this mean for you?
It means you have the right to ask questions. To understand the benefits and risks. To choose monitoring that supports your mobility, comfort, and physiology — not one that limits it unnecessarily.

As your doula, I want you to feel empowered, informed, and supported in advocating for the birth you envision. Evidence matters. Your intuition matters. Your birth experience matters.

✨Let's Talk About: Sterile Water Injections✨

Sterile water injections are a simple, low intervention option for managing intense back pain and labor- especially if your baby is in a posterior position. Four tiny injections are placed just under the skin in the lower back, creating a brief stinging sensation that can offer significant pain relief for up to 4 hours. They are considered an amazing pain relief option as they do not affect baby, mum's mobility, or labour progress in any way. They are also quick and can be repeated if needed.

What the research shows:
💧They can reduce back labour pain.
💧Decrease use of epidural.
💧Support mobility.

The only risk involved with sterile water injections are if mum is needle-phobic, she may not be able to tolerate the injections.

If you're planning a low-intervention birth or want more tools in your pain management toolkit, sterile water injections may be worth discussing with your care provider.

Your comfort matters. Your choices matter. And you deserve to know all the options available to you! ❤️

✨ Closing My Books for 2025 ✨

What an incredible year 2025 has turned out to be for me! My heart is full with gratitude to the families who invited me to walk alongside them on their sacred journeys through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. 💛

I’m officially closing my books for 2025—and I’m so grateful for the trust and love of each family who has chosen me to be part of their story.

If you’re dreaming of support for 2026, now is the time to reach out—I’d love to connect and hold space for you!

Here’s to all the babies, the mamas, and the journeys yet to unfold. Thank you for continuing to support me to do this work—it’s truly an honour.

Love,
Kristin xx
