Congratulations to St George Rowing Club who won the Great 8s race (A grade mixed eight) this morning at the Taree Summer regatta. In good rowing conditions they snuck ahead of 13 other crews and held off the University of NSW and UTS who came second and third respectively. Great row teams!!

It's not often you get 18 boats abreast lining up for a rowing race — but that's what it’s all about on the Manning River in the Gr8 8s Race at the Taree Summer Regatta. This signature event is on Saturday morning 10 January 2026 and this year it's an 800m race to accommodate some changes in the river over past 12 months. First 18 entries qualify.

The Taree Summer Regatta is on 9-11 January 🚣🚣 Warm water, fast racing, questionable tans, and just enough pain to remind you why you love this sport.
