🌸 Breast Cancer Awareness Month 🌸

This month, we’re taking a moment to recognise the incredible courage of patients who face cancer with such strength and resilience. We’re also deeply grateful to our dedicated nurses, doctors, and support teams who bring compassionate care to every patient, every day.

Our Haematology and Oncology Clinic believes in standing together—through the big moments and the small. 💖 We also want to recognise the National Breast Cancer Foundation for their invaluable work in advancing research and awareness across Australia. As understanding of how breast cancer begins, grows, and spreads continues to evolve, now is the time to book a check-up if you’re due or to ask about ways to reduce your risk. Talk to your doctor today. 💖

🏥 On World Patient Safety Day, we reaffirm our unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of every patient who walks through our doors. 👩‍⚕️ Patient Focus means we prioritise the needs and safety of our patients in every decision we make. We ensure that our processes, procedures, and care environments are designed to provide the highest level of protection and care.

Today is a powerful reminder to check in on those around us. As healthcare professionals, we know the importance of being present, listening, and offering support, not only for our patients but also for colleagues and friends who may be facing challenges.

This year’s theme ‘Ask R U OK? Any Day’ reinforces the importance of trust, authenticity, and providing a safe space for these conversations, any day of the year.

Our hospital is taking a moment to listen and support each other, and help create a stronger, more connected healthcare community—because sometimes, a simple question can change everything.

This week, we celebrate the 30th anniversary of International Men's Health Week and the focus is on the importance of Men's Health Checks this year.

Our Chief Medical Officer Dr Anthony Chambers is encouraging all men to prioritise their health and wellbeing. Here's how:

✅ Routine health checks 🧑‍⚕️ They're a simple and effective way to ensure you’re in good health and not experiencing abnormalities that may be linked to more serious conditions.

✅ Know your numbers 🩺 including blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, and body mass index. It's an effective way to take control of your health and make necessary adjustments.

✅ Commit to healthier lifestyle choices 🥗 This means including regular exercise and a balanced diet.

✅ Be proactive and take advantage of the quality healthcare services you can access locally, or at our hospital 🏥

Follow these simple steps towards enhancing Men’s Health. Together, we can reduce the impact of preventable diseases and enhance the quality of life for all men 🙏
