Over the weekend, we had the absolute pleasure of joining the community at Taylors Lakes McDonald’s to celebrate McHappy Day — an incredible event supporting the families and children of Ronald McDonald House Charities.

It was a heart-warming day filled with smiles, laughter, and connection. We loved gifting goody bags to the local families, meeting so many wonderful children, and sharing meaningful moments with their parents and carers.

A special highlight was spending time with our local and state MPs, who joined the community in showing support and raising awareness for such an important cause.

Events like these remind us why we do what we do — community, togetherness, and supporting families whenever we can.

Thank you to everyone who came up, said hello, shared a story, or allowed us to be part of your day. We’re grateful for every moment.

Together, we make a difference.

We’re thrilled after meeting at the recent McHappy Day held at Taylors Lakes. It was a privilege to introduce Yours Truly Support Services and share how we strive day-to-day to deliver personalised, dignified support for participants, enabling them to live their lives with confidence and purpose.

We also had the opportunity to hear about Natalie’s ongoing commitment to our area: advocating for strong local infrastructure, inclusive community services, equal opportunities, and better outcomes for families, workers, and people with disability. Her roots and passion for the western suburbs shine through in her work.

Thank you, Natalie, for joining us, for your encouragement and for the significant difference you’re making in our community. We look forward to continuing to work alongside you and others to support positive change.

What was meant to be a short hospital stay turned into 18 long weeks.

Before being admitted, Jay walked every day — no assistance, just determination. But in the hospital, that routine was taken from him.

Staff said he was “too big” to walk.
So day by day, his strength slipped away. Bound to the bed. Then the wheelchair. Then the hoist.

What hurt most wasn’t just the loss of movement, it was watching his confidence fade.

But we never gave up on him.

Since coming home, the team at Yours Truly Support Services has worked tirelessly to rebuild what the hospital let disappear — strength, independence, and hope.

Today, Jay no longer needs a hoist.
He’s walking around the house with minimal support.
And this week, for the first time in over six months… he got back into a car.

His family watched with tears in their eyes, a simple moment that meant everything.

Because progress isn’t always loud. It’s often quiet. Hard-earned. And deeply personal.
