The state of your gut contributes greatly to the state of your mind. Depression is much more prevalent in those with a compromised gut community. The reason the gut contributes so much to your mental health is that it is where up to 90% of your good mental hormones are produced. Some people call them "happy hormones"; they are the ones responsible for keeping you stable and lighthearted. In order to produce these good hormones the body requires good nutrition, exercise, sunlight, fresh air, low stress, and occasionally, a bit of help from supplementation.
