One thing you won’t see at KIARA is staff sitting up the front talking to each other and ignoring the rest of the team in the back.
This is one thing that i see daily (from other organisations) and it so so incredibly demeaning. Our Team choose the music, sit in the front and are always Treated respectfully.
As you see in this pic we have a staff member driving the car, a Team member next to her, and I’m in the back with some other Team members.

From an NDIS and duty-of-care perspective, participants should only be required to sit in the back seat (with two staff in front) for documented safety reasons, such as airbag risk, medical or behavioural considerations that could affect driving safety, inability to safely wear a seatbelt, legal child-restraint requirements, mobility or transfer safety needs, or specific vehicle or insurance restrictions. Staff preference, convenience, or undocumented “rules” are not valid reasons, and any seating restriction must be individual, justified, and the least restrictive option. 🩷

Merry Christmas to each and every one of our KIARA crew members, your families and all of our supporters.
Was quite a year, many ups and downs (mostly ups), We learned new skills, we were challenged, we achieved many goals and always had fun along the way.
I hope you all have a very merry Christmas and a nice (safe) festive break 💚❤️

Probably one of the funnier nights iv had in a while. At our KIARA Party We had a lovely meal and lots of games (one resulting in us selecting a wrapped christmas mystery gift we had to wear) which was funny😂 And then a Christmas lights tour, highly recommend Colac for lights. We truly hope your work Christmas parties are just as fun and you enjoy some laughter and banter with your work mates this time of year. 💚❤️
