20–26 May marks Spinal Health Week — a time to raise awareness about the importance of spinal health and the role it plays in our everyday lives. 💙

Back and neck pain can affect people of all ages and may impact movement, sleep, work, and overall wellbeing. This week encourages us to take proactive steps toward better spinal health by staying active, improving posture, stretching regularly, and seeking support when needed.

Your spine supports you every day, so taking care of it matters. Prioritising spinal health can help improve mobility, reduce discomfort, and support long-term wellbeing.

Let this week be a reminder to move more, sit better, and look after the body that carries you through life 💙

💜 World Autoimmune & Auto immune/ auto inflammatory Arthritis Day – 20th May 💜

Today, CHG Care recognises World Autoimmune & Auto inflammatory Arthritis Day, raising awareness for the millions of people living with auto immune and auto inflammatory conditions that can impact daily life, mobility, independence, and overall wellbeing.

These conditions are often invisible illnesses, with many individuals facing ongoing pain, fatigue, inflammation, and challenges that are not always seen by others. Today is about increasing understanding, encouraging compassion, and supporting those navigating life with these conditions.

At CHG Care, we are committed to providing person-centred supports that empower individuals to maintain independence, achieve their goals, and improve their quality of life.

Let’s continue to build a more inclusive and supportive community through awareness, education, and understanding. 💜

🧠 May is Stroke Awareness Month 🧠

At CHG Care, we are raising awareness about the signs of stroke and the importance of acting FAST. A stroke can happen to anyone, at any age, and recognising the symptoms early can save lives and improve recovery outcomes.

Remember the signs using F.A.S.T:

🔹 Face – Has their face drooped?
🔹 Arms – Can they lift both arms?
🔹 Speech – Is their speech slurred or unclear?
🔹 Time – Time is critical. Call emergency services immediately.

Stroke awareness is about education, prevention, and support for those impacted. This month, we encourage our community to take a moment to learn the signs, support loved ones, and prioritise their health and wellbeing.
Together, we can help create a more informed and supportive community. 💙

Today we celebrate and recognise the incredible nurses who make a difference every single day 💙

At CHG Care, we are especially grateful for the compassion, dedication, strength, and care that nurses bring not only to the healthcare industry, but into the homes and lives of the people they support.
From advocating for participants, coordinating care, providing clinical support, and simply being there during difficult times — nurses play such an important role in helping people feel safe, supported, and valued.
To all nurses, thank you for the work you do, the hearts you carry, and the difference you make in the lives of others every day.

Happy International Nurses Day from the team at CHG Care 🩺

April is Falls Awareness Month and it's a good reminder that falls are one of the most common, and most preventable, causes of injury among older Australians.

We've put together a practical guide covering what actually works, including how to stay active in ways that build balance, what to ask your GP, small changes you can make at home, and how your Support at Home funding can help cover things like physio, home safety assessments, and assistive equipment.

Prevention works best as an everyday habit, not a once a year conversation. Read the full blog here: https://trilogycare.com.au/how-to-prevent-falls-at-home-a-practical-guide-for-older-australians?utm_source=organic_fb&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=blog&utm_content=april-falls

🐾 International Guide Dog Day 🐾

Today we celebrate the incredible impact of guide dogs and the independence they bring to people living with vision impairment. 💛

Guide dogs are more than just companions — they are highly trained partners who provide safety, confidence, and freedom in everyday life. From navigating busy streets to supporting their handler’s independence, their role is truly life-changing.
At CHG Care, we recognise and appreciate the important role assistance animals play in supporting our community and empowering individuals to live more independently.

✨ A gentle reminder:
Always ask before approaching or patting a guide dog
Respect that they are working
Give them space to do their job safely

Thank you to all the amazing guide dogs and the organisations that train and support them. 🐶💙

✨ Meet the Directors at CHG Care ✨

We thought it was time to properly introduce the faces behind CHG Care — the people behind the vision and the passion.
Hayley Stevens is a Registered Nurse with extensive hands-on experience in the community care sector and a genuine passion for supporting people with dignity, respect, and compassion. Her background in nursing and frontline care shaped a strong belief that support should always be person-centred, meaningful, and built around the individual — not just the service.

Alongside her is Kurt Stevens, her husband and business partner. Kurt brings a broad and varied background across different industries and roles, with a strong focus on operations, community connection, and building systems that support people in a practical and meaningful way.

Together, Hayley and Kurt founded CHG Care in 2020 as a family-run, nurse-led business with a shared vision — to create a more connected and supportive approach to care across the Northern Rivers, Gold Coast, and surrounding regions.

We are a family of five and deeply involved in our local community, proudly sponsoring the Tumbulgum Fishing Club and our local junior rugby league club Bilambil Junior Jets. Kurt also spends his free time volunteering down in “the valley,” where he has been mowing and maintaining the field.

CHG Care was built on the belief that great support is about relationships, shared values, and genuine human connection. Whether it’s supporting people within the disability or aged care space, or helping connect individuals with meaningful work opportunities, the focus has always been on bringing the right people together in the right way.

As a family-run business, CHG Care remains deeply committed to keeping things personal, community-focused, and grounded in real relationships — where both participants and support workers feel valued, heard, and supported.

We’re proud of what we’ve built so far, and even more excited for what’s ahead.

ARE YOU AN INDEPENDENT SUPPORT WORKER OR AN UNREGISTERED NDIS PROVIDER?

A simpler, supported way to work in the NDIS space—without the stress of registration, compliance, and admin overload.

CHG Care is a registered and trusted NDIS provider (along with other schemes including DVA, NIISQ & the aged care support at home program) delivering high-quality, person-centred supports across The Gold Coast & Northern Rivers NSW and surrounding regions. We provide a broad range of essential disability and in home supports, including:

• Support with activities of daily living (personal care, medication compliance, transfers)
• Community access and social participation
• Transport assistance
• Domestic assistance
• Home and garden maintenance
• Respite & Flexible supports
• 24/7 in home supports
• Complex and psychosocial support
• Employment assistance
• Implementation of Behaviour Support Plans
• Implementation of Mealtime Management Plans
• Support Coordination (Level 1 & 2)

As the NDIS continues to evolve, CHG Care is actively partnering with independent support workers and unregistered providers who want the flexibility of working independently — with the security, structure, and backing of a fully registered organisation.

We take care of the registration, compliance, invoicing, and administrative burden, so you can focus on delivering meaningful, high-quality supports to your participants.
If you're looking for a way to keep your current work life with your current participants while stepping into a more stable and supported style model of work, CHG Care may be the right fit for you.

If you’d like more information on how we can support you, please contact us at admin@chgcare.com.au with the subject line “PARTNERSHIP” or message us via Facebook Messenger
