This month’s award goes to our legendary handyman, Mark Devoy!

Mark is one of the most loved members of our Wyvern family, someone who truly lives our value of “Care Without Compromise” every single day.

His peak awesomeness moment?
Over Christmas, Mark single‑handedly transformed our Christmas party into a festive wonderland—despite a list of unusual constraints that would have stopped anyone else in their tracks. Think a real life Buddy the Elf!
From keeping our hospital pristine for patients to going above and beyond for every colleague, Mark shows that “Care Without Compromise” extends to patients, doctors, and staff!

Today we opened the Ayscough Ward, named in honour of renowned Musculoskeletal Physician Dr Rodney Ayscough.
While Wyvern is just over a year old, many of our teams have worked together for decades. That continuity, combined with access to the latest innovations and the exceptional setting of our new hospital, allows us to deliver something truly special.
Our wards carry the names of healthcare luminaries who may no longer be with us, but their ethos continues to shape the culture we’re proud to carry forward.

2026 has started strong for the team at Wyvern.

In January, our Net Promoter Score (NPS) was 95, a measure of how likely patients are to recommend us to family and friends. In Australian healthcare, scores above 70 are considered excellent.

You might have heard about Wyvern on the radio, or from a local who's experienced care here, but we are growing as a presence in the northern suburbs of Sydney. We get great reviews! We need more nurses to meet the growing demand for our services. If you're a Surgical Ward Nurse, or a Scrub/Scout Nurse, particularly with experience in Urology, we'd love to speak to you. World Physiotherapy Day was celebrated at Wyvern with a range of activities but the one that got staff moving the most was the Steps Challenge! Evelyn, our Deputy Director of Clinical Services won with 16,444 steps on the day (Monday 8th September). It's true, she manages to visit everyone everyday!
Our Allied Health did a great job organising a fun day and spreading the word about how to look after ourselves and keep active.
