Thanks for having me and

For the last 5 weeks, I was lucky enough to be a clinic supervisor of 3 fantastic students at the Exercise Lifestyle Clinic at ACU, and it absolutely flew by!!

It was great to see the quality of some of our future EPs 🀩

1 thing I love doing is helping people do the things they love but also helping others help other people. This truly filled my cup, and I can't wait to have students at My Exercise Physiology.

Swipe ➑️ to learn what I love to do

Exercise Physiology πŸ₯° a job I fall more in love with, but where do I begin?

Firstly, we are part of allied health, having completed a university degree. I have personally completed a Masters in Clinical Exercise Science and Rehabilitation

In this and over the last 5 years, I have learnt and practised how to personalise and prescribe exercise to a wide variety of health conditions, finding a passion for helping people with autism and helping people make exercise a part of their routine and life.

To do this, I have to get to know
1. You
2. Your goals, and
3. Your starting point.

Then, we can form a plan together from your expertise in you and your life and my expertise in movement and the next best movement step for you.

If you want to know more in how you can achieve your goals then please message me

What can you expect out of your exercise physiology appointments? πŸ€”πŸ€·β€β™€οΈπŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Step 1: We get to know you and your goals

Step 2: We assess where you're at according to your goals. This could be mobility, strength cardiovascular or something in-between

Step 3: We create a program that suits your ability based off your assessment above. Here we also formulate a plan with you as you are the expert in you and your life.

Step 4: We retest, every 6-12weeks. This helps us ensure what you are doing is moving you towards your goal/s

Step 5: We make adjustments to your program and plan as required. Things come up and goals change so we need to adapt as that happens.

Our focus is you and helping you achieve your goals, no matter what they are 😁 have a question? please ask away πŸ™

GoldilocksπŸ‘©πŸΌπŸ»πŸ²

Since everyone I've ever worked with knows the story of Goldilocks, we use the story to know what level you should exercise at to get strength gains.

We don't want it to be 'too hot', which would be a 9 or 10 out of 10, or 'too cold', which would be below 6 out of 10.

'Just Right' would go from a 6 to an 8 out of 10.

This is not to say that exercising below a 6 or above an 8 isn't worthwhile.

Below a 6 is a great place to warm up, learn and build confidence with new movements.

So what exactly is a 6-8/10? πŸ€”
Again, this is more aimed at strength exercises. So, saying that this is what you perceive, however, some things I keep in mind are:
- Does it feel like it's a challenge to lift?
- How many more reps could I do? if 5, it is too easy; if 1 more, then it's perhaps too hard
- How much energy do I have left?
