My couples massage workshop was so much fun to create and facilitate. But before the workshop, I had so many people reach out wanting to take part and not able to both make those dates or be able to find babysitters for that long. I've been doing a lot of thinking and reflecting the last couple of months over what I want to create moving forward, and I think I've landed on my next venture. As I've said in the video, I'm not sure exactly how this will look or what it will include. But I wanted to put it out there as a first step and to see if anyone here has any feedback or ideas to add.

I really enjoy facilitating workshops and will continue to host in person workshops as well. But this can be an option for those who live further away, don't have babysitting options, can't make those dates, or just prefer to experience massage with their partner in their own home (most likely this will also be a cheaper option as I'll have less expenses associated)

So, if you have any comments, feedback, or ideas, or want to be notified when this becomes a reality, leave a comment or DM me 💆‍♀️

If your here to debunk some massage myths here it is:
1) Massage works on the muscle, it also works on the fascia, connective tissue, bloodflow, lymphatic drainage and
2) Sometimes massage can be intense, but a massage therapist should always be listening to what you want and not go beyond what your comfortable with. The no pain no gain idea is very outdated now, and going beyond a clients comfortability is not helpful it just hurts.
3) Massage dies not remove toxins from the body. Nor do most things claiming to remove toxins. Nor does your body need help in removing toxins, your liver, kidneys and skin are doing a great job of that already
4) It is to get a massage at any stage of pregnancy. My most massage therapists (including me) only take bookings for pregnant clients after 12 weeks. This is for my safety not yours, 1st trimester pregnancy comes with unsureness, as massage therapists we don't want the blame for something thatbhas nothing to do with us. I'll see you at 13 weeks+🤰
5) All massage is different, even if two people were trained in the same way, it will always be different. There are also so many different styles and types of massage. And so many different origins that work on different systems.
6) massage is for so much more then relaxation, it can also help releiv pain, improve range of motion, help with injury recovery and prevention, improve blood flow and sleep and so so so much more

Do you have anybother massage myths?

When you book an appointment with me, that is your time for you. Whatever you need is not an inconveniance to me, I'm here to support your needs.

So let's go through them, you don't need to appologies for your emotions. Everyone goes through things, and being in the vaunerable space that receiving a massage is, its natural for those feelings to come up. I think it's actually a great sign that your connected to your body and really feeling you emotions instead of pushing them away. I will never judge you for feeling your feelings and you never need to appologies for them.

You don't need to apologise for your needs, we all need to drink water, blow our noses, take a p*e break or move to make ourselves more comfortable. It's a natural thing and I want you to be as comfortable as you possibly can be.

You don't need to appologies for your preferences, if you eant more or less pressure, if your too hot or too cold, don't like my music or the smells in my diffuser we can change all of those things, you don't need to appologies for your preferalences

If you and your partner want to learn simple massage techniques, I'll be hosting a couples massage workshop on febuary 16th (it would make a great valentines day gift!!) To book your spot comment "Couples Massage" and I'll send you the booking link or you can follow the link in the comments

If your hear to hear about the benefits your relationship could feel from massage, hear are my thoughts:
• you'll both feel more relaxed, we all deal with stress in our lives for different reasons. and massage is a great way to let some of that stress go and not bring it into every other part of our lives.
• Open up communication (verbal and non verbal, this has multiple parts) Firstly in the most obvious massage gives you an opetunity to explore touch in a new way therefore giving you a new setting to talk to your partner about what feels good to you, how you want to be touched. When i talk about non verbal communication I mean the signals that our bodies give, this is about seeing the unique signs and reactions your partner gives during massage.
Lastly (on this point) massage moves things around in the body physically and emotionally, it can make conversations or topics and emotions easier to bring up or discuss.
• touch has been proven to benefit physical and mental health, it can help reduce symptoms of anxiety, pain and sadness and improve sleep.
• Massage is a powerful self care tool. Learning to perform a relaxation massage, is a powerful tool for caring for your partner. Sharing these mutual self care experiences can help you to foster closeness, intimacy and connections.
• I'll leave the last one as a question, have you explored intentional touch with no expectations (or sexpectations) in your relationship?
