There’s a lot of skincare advice out there… but not all of it is true.
Let’s clear up the confusion! Here are 5 myths we hear all the time – and the facts you need to know:
MYTH 1: “If it burns, it means it’s working.”
FACT: That stingy feeling usually means irritation, not effectiveness. Healthy skincare shouldn’t hurt!
MYTH 2: “Oily skin doesn’t need moisturiser.”
FACT: Skipping moisturiser can actually make oily skin produce more oil. Opt for lightweight, oil-free hydration instead.
MYTH 3: “You don’t need sunscreen on cloudy days.”
FACT: UV rays still pe*****te through clouds — SPF is a daily essential, rain or shine.
MYTH 4: “Natural = better for your skin.”
FACT: Not always! Some natural ingredients can be harsh or allergenic.
Focus on what’s effective and safe — not just what’s “natural.”
MYTH 5: “You can shrink your pores.”
FACT: Pore size is genetic — but you can minimise their appearance with good skincare and treatments.
Heard any of these before? You’re not alone.
That’s why education is a big part of what we do here at CCLC!
