Elizabeth Trevan Our Funeral Director supported by Picaluna

Elizabeth Trevan Our Funeral Director supported by Picaluna Our Funeral Director works in partnership with Picaluna Beautiful Funerals. The death of a loved one, whether sudden or expected, is always a difficult time.

Picaluna is a community of like minded people, helping families to create more authentic, compassionate and affordable cremations, burials and memorials. Picaluna felt that there was a much better way to conduct funerals, and are changing the way funerals are done for the better. This change is underpinned by their core purpose to help communities to honour, mourn, celebrate, heal and rejuvenate. Picaluna also chooses to donate 5% of their Service Fee to a charity of the family’s choice. The Picaluna partnership supports me in the logistics required to arrange and conduct a funeral; including transfers, registering the death with Births, Deaths & Marriages, access to a vast range of suppliers, mortuary care, and invoicing. This allows me to spend more time with you, crafting and delivering a personalised ceremony, authentic to the one you loved.

Out in the countryside today, helping a family with a direct cremation — also called No Service No Attendance. A simple, dignified farewell with ashes returned to loved ones, ready for a personal celebration of life, in their own way.

A big shout out for the talented Rachel Bracken who has launched her Podcast- The D Word… .podcast

It’s all about thoughtful conversations on death, dying, and end-of-life matters. Not to make things heavier, but because when we talk about death, it feels less frightening and we can support each other better.

The first episode, Death Is Not an Emergency, is live now. You can find it on Spotify, Apple, and Amazon — or head to .podcast for links.♥

Incredibly proud to have shared so many years with this powerhouse of a human and to see her at her shining best.

What an extraordinary ritual of healing to witness. To also understand what it takes to be both a funeral director and celebrant within a community and know the weight of responsibility and the privilege of such roles.

Kathryn Breusch Funerals , you were a credit to Carla and a beacon for all those whose hearts are breaking at her death.

“Well done”, barely covers it… I’m so proud of you. 💙🌙

For over twenty years, I’ve had the honour of working in both the wedding and funeral industries — as a celebrant and funeral director.

(You’ll also find me over at .)

These two worlds often intertwine. When you guide people through life’s most significant moments, you become a trusted presence across the seasons of their lives.

Recently, I was deeply honoured to be asked by a past bride — from 17 years ago — to lead the funeral service for her beloved father, held at a rural property just outside Canberra.

It’s moments like this that remind me how powerful and enduring these human connections can be.

An outdoor funeral, in winter, in the Blue Mountains…

When the expressed wishes of the person at the centre of this moment were that all present wore colourful warm clothing….

One of my favourite winter jackets enjoying the mountain outing and nature’s offering of a feather adornment.
