• Cert III or Cert IV in Individual Support or Aged Care
• First Aid & CPR
• Driver’s licence + your own insured vehicle

At Freewave Aged Care, we know the move to Support at Home has created a lot of questions — and it’s important you feel confident, informed and supported every step of the way.

If you’re transitioning to Support at Home, you still have time to sign your new agreement. The team at OPAN has shared some helpful reminders, and we wanted to pass them on to our community:

• You should have received a letter from Services Australia outlining your individual contribution rate.
• After receiving your letter, you have up to 90 days to sign your agreement, so you can take the time you need.
• You can continue receiving services even though the 1 November transition date has passed.
• Accepting services after 1 November does not mean you have accepted your new agreement.
• Providers cannot end your services during this transition period if you haven’t signed yet.

If you’re unsure what this means for you, your choices, or your ongoing support, Freewave is here to help.
Call us on 1800 271 002 for clear, personalised guidance.

Reminder: If you're transitioning to Support at Home, you still have time to sign your agreement.

Protecting Older Australians from Scams

We’re resharing this important alert from the Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing about scammers pretending to be aged care assessors.

At Freewave Aged Care, your safety is our priority. To help protect consumers:

• All Freewave staff carry official photo ID during in-home visits and will always schedule visits, never arriving unannounced

• We complete a 3-point identity check when speaking with clients by phone

If you are ever unsure that a call or visit is genuinely from Freewave, please don't hesitate to call us directly on 1800-271-002 to confirm.

If someone claims to be an Aged Care Assessor, you can confirm with My Aged Care by calling them on 1800-200-422.

If something doesn’t feel right, trust your instincts, ask questions, and don’t share personal or financial information.

Be aware – we’ve received reports of scammers targeting older people by pretending to be aged care assessors.

There have been reports of suspicious phone calls and visits from people claiming to be from My Aged Care or allied health services.
Please be cautious and remember:
🔹 Aged care assessors will always schedule visits in advance and provide proof of identification.
🔹 Older people should refuse entry if they are concerned, and not share personal or financial information.
🔹 All legitimate aged care activity can be confirmed by calling My Aged Care on 1800 200 422 (8:00 am to 8:00 pm Monday to Friday, 10:00 am to 2:00 pm Saturday local time).
🔹 Report any incidents to Scamwatch by visiting their website
