Emotional self regulation, emotional intelligence, emotional agility, emotional maturity are all names for the skills we are expected to have as adults to cope with the challenges of day to day living.

According to Alice Boyes PhD, there are 10 skills that we need to master by the time we are adults.
1. Identifying which specific emotions you are feeling.
2. Identifying which specific emotions someone else is feeling.
3. The ability to start and persist with pursuing goals even when you feel anxious.
4. The ability to tolerate awkwardness.
5. The ability to have intimate conversations rather than stonewall, avoid or flee.
6. The ability not to crumble when someone is pressuring you.
7. The ability to soothe your own emotions.
8. The ability to soothe other people's emotions.
9. The ability to not be overwhelmed or go over the top with emotions.
10. The ability to delay gratification.

If these skills are not taught to us in our childhood years, it is unlikely that they would develop in adulthood.
Too often there is judgement, fear ad uncertainty when people are seen as over emotional which compounds the emotional situation for the person who needs support.

If there is an emotional skill that you feel needs improving so you can you can master your emotions, call or message for a Holistic Counselling and flower essence treatment today.

An interesting read.

If we don't know what we want and need, how can we communicate this to others and let them know how we want to be treated and loved? This exercise will definitely help with this.

We can not support or heal others until we heal ourselves.

https://www.facebook.com/221875094631580/posts/2099450960207308/

"Wounded Healers aren’t born or made. They create themselves by transforming their pain into power and adversity into strength. They are spiritual alchemists who understand the value of facing the shadows and transmuting them into light. They are the Illuminators of the unseen realms and help lost souls find help, home and healing."
~Lonerwolf

The wounded healer is an archetype made famous by Carl Jung in the early 1900s, but it’s been in human mythology since humans had mythology. Read Chiron’s story if you’re interested in some background. The idea is that healers, just like those they serve, are wounded.

Let’s define a healer as anyone who participates in another’s healing. You are a healer.

While we’re at it, let’s define a wound as a hardship that causes you suffering. You are wounded.

“Our wounds are a custom invitation to walk our unique path of healing.”

~Our wounds teach us who we are.

I’ve not found a better way to learn about me. If I can manage to stick it out through a painful moment without a distraction or coping mechanism, then the me that emerges on the other side has learned a thing or two. I learn what’s important to me, what my impulses are and what drives them. I learn what I’ve suppressed, what’s hidden in the dark corners. I learn that there’s an unwavering part of me, and that I’m stronger and more capable than I previously thought.

~Healing from a wound is transformative.

You want to feel more free, healthy, and energized? Grow into a happier more evolved person? Well good thing you’re a wounded healer. The transformation you are seeking starts with your wounds. It can be a baby-steps-slow-burn kind of transformation or a dramatic-hail-Mary experience. Jung describes our wounds as an opening to the subconscious mind, which also happens to be the birthplace of our creativity. When we face our wounds, we have access to a creativity not yet known to us. If we embrace this, look out world! Here comes you with your new creative genius, just what the world needs.

~We’re all on this journey together.

Some are deeper down the rabbit hole than others but we’re all in it together. Yes, suffering is something we all have in common, but I mean something more mystical than that. Your unique flavor of suffering is a teensy taste of your community’s suffering. The people that have been, presently are, and will be in your life are involved in your wound in some way. Zoom out and all of humanity has a part to play in your suffering, just as you have a part to play in humanity’s suffering. It’s our suffering, it’s our wounding, it’s our healing. (Please read Paul Levy for a more eloquent description of this idea.)

~We can over-identify with our wound.

It’s possible to get stuck in our woundedness, obsess over it, or become a victim to it. No judgement, it happens to all of us at one juncture or another. I don’t think anyone in their right mind chooses this kind of maddening self-obsession. One angle on this is that over time we can perceive our wounds as “serving” us. For example, your diagnosis or trauma might get you compassionate attention. Your addiction might give you stress relief. Your belief that you’re not good enough may be how you bond with your friends. We can become accustomed to our lives in this way, and normalize our wounds. Your wound is a thing to be moved through, not camped out in.

~We can project our s**t onto other people.

This might be a case of “when all you’ve got is a hammer, everything looks like a nail”. For example, if your wound was around having weak boundaries in your relationships and you dove in and healed and transformed yourself in the process, you might (understandably) be tempted to think that all your friends or clients should do the same. But this of course may not be their trouble. It can be a real challenge to leave the bias of our own experience behind. However, if we don’t try to meet others from a blank slate, we run a high risk of misunderstanding and miscommunicating. We can miss our chance to help them heal.

SO WHAT’S THE POINT?
I think You are the point. (You with a capital Y)

The true You = the You that is whole and complete and invulnerable to being wounded.

We were born this way, and weren’t conscious of it because it was just the way things were. Then we were wounded, and our wound separated us from that state, making us feel incomplete, flawed, or damaged in some way. The point of the wound may be to allow us a conscious awareness of our wholeness and completeness.

Reality is paradoxical. Our wound is the thing that heals us. We are wounded and whole at the same time.

John Prendergast said it best:

It is true that we are all affected by our conditioning – by our imperfect parenting, by neglect and abuse, by trauma and unhealthy attachment styles, and by the challenges of life itself. However – and this is critically important – we are never essentially damaged by these experiences. On a relative level, we are impacted, sometimes quite deeply. On an essential level, we are not. As human beings, we are always both wounded and whole.~

Holistic health at its finest.

Can you repeatedly embody compassion independent of the conditions in your environment, so that no person or situation could ever create that old state of being in you again? If not, you have not yet mastered compassion. My definition of mastery is that our internal chemical state is greater than anything in our external world. ⁣
mind.⁣

Ultimately, if you repeatedly re-create the experience of compassion at will, practicing it independent of any circumstance in your life, your body would become the mind of compassion. You would memorize compassion so well that nothing from your outside world could move you from this state of being. Now all three brains are working together; and you are biologically, neurochemically, and genetically in a state of compassion. When compassion becomes unconditionally ordinary and familiar for you, you have progressed from knowledge to experience to wisdom.⁣

My definition of mastery is that our internal chemical state is greater than anything in our external world. You are a master when you’ve conditioned yourself with chosen thoughts and feelings, you’ve memorized desired emotional/chemical states, and nothing in your external life deters you from your aims. No person, no thing, and no experience at any time or place should disrupt your internal chemical coherence. You can think, act, and feel differently whenever you choose❤️

The mind-body connection is powerful.

The mind-body connection is powerful.

Let me start by saying that the intent of this passage is to illustrate our ability to create reality with our minds. The human neocortex is an amazing instrument that helps us learn and remember. This is a great ability, most of the time. Our higher brain functions allow us to make new discoveries and recall past events.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
The downside of our enlarged brains is that we can get stuck in the past. Our large database of information is a warehouse of memories replete with feelings and emotions. This is why we can remember with vivid detail when we got fired from that job. We can paint a mental picture of that moment with such intensity so as to produce the same brain chemistry, & when that happens we are living in the past.⁣⁣
Maybe you’ve never been fired, but surely you’ve had a traumatic experience in your life. What happens to you when that memory starts floating to the surface? Do you notice a change in mood? This is your body’s stress response gearing up for action. You’ve conditioned your body to respond to this event in a certain way and it’s doing what it’s been taught, even when the stressor isn’t physically present.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Animals also have a stress response. However, their brains have a much smaller neocortex which limits memory. For instance, a deer has a split second to decide if it’s going to run from a predator. Once the decision is made and the danger has passed the deer returns to homeostasis. The deer doesn’t stay up all night worrying for hours on end about when the predator will return or obsess about how it narrowly escaped death.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
We can take a lesson from animals. The ability to move on is something people struggle with. Not only do we fixate on past events, we also project our expectations onto the future. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
This isn’t to say that thinking about the past or the future is a bad idea. What’s important is how we engage with ourselves. We need to use our capacity to learn and remember in different ways. When we can’t think greater than how we feel then it’s time to change. Change starts with overcoming old habits, behaviors and emotions that cause us to live in a past which invariably becomes our future. So if you can turn on the stress response just by thought alone and the hormones of stress can make you sick, then your thoughts can literally make you sick. So the question is, if your thoughts can make you sick, is it possible then that your thoughts can make you well?

It's ok to just be

“We have a tendency to think in terms of doing and not in terms of being. We think that when we are not doing anything, we are wasting our time. But that is not true. Our time is first of all for us to be. To be what? To be alive, to be peaceful, to be joyful, to be loving. And that is what the world needs most.”

No regrets" The tattoo of the detached or the rebellious?
To me, regrets are moments of reflection that remind us we have strayed from our path. We need some regrets if we want to change, grow and feel our life has meaning.
This short clip shows how NOT doing something brings melancholy into our lives.
What regret is holding you back?

It's more than honey.

Floral Alchemy is a marriage of honey and flower essences.
Honey can be chosen by budget, by taste testing, or one can go a little deeper by viewing pictures of the flowers first, and then choosing a flower that they are drawn to the most. The honey is tasted and the message of the flower is shared. More often than not, that message resonates with one personally. Taste testing honey becomes thought provoking, as one considers the possibility that honey can support one emotionally as well as physically.

I am a bee keeper that is a flower essence therapist who appreciates honey in a whole new way, because it is more than honey. It's sweet feelings in a jar.

The mind-body connection is becoming scientifically proven.

Gratitude can seriously change the shape of your day and lift depression. Contentment is within your control if you want it to be.

Gratitude is heart and mind changing.

Surrender to being proud of yourself. You'll be glad you did.

Gratitude is a funny thing. In some parts of the world, somebody who gets a clean drink of water, some food, or a worn out pair of shoes can be extremely grateful. Meanwhile, somebody else who has all the necessities they need to live can be found complaining about something. What we have today is [...

Parrot Bush. Resilience.

Its prickly leaves claimed many a victim who to dared get too close. Sometimes, the dangers are known, yet the risk is still taken and the leaves grab and scratch. The plant will then be blamed for causing pain and discomfort when it is standing there, simply doing it's own thing. Being a tree.

What if one could realise that the plant is not to blame and that responsibilty for our pain is ours and how we respond to that pain is our choice.

This is the essence of Parrot Bush. To take charge when things go wrong and plot a positive path forward regardless of the circumstances. To not feel frutrated and blame others or situations for ones painful lifes circumstances.

Message me via Floral Alchemy Holistic Health for your jar of Parrot Bush honey today.

I have heard su***de takes 1 life, everyday in Australia.

The well they are in is deeper than despair. Ending the pain and getting themselves out of the darkness is their only goal.

As with any human being that is suffering, compassion and empathy is the remedy.

If su***de still haunts or has touched your life, watch the episode of You Can't Ask That (from April 19) and hear it from those that have been there and made it back. I hope it can bring some understanding to this taboo subject.

Su***de is too often judged. Support one another and understand that we process emotional pain in different ways and for some, this is only way.

20/04/2020

“When you are triggered, it can feel like moving a mountain to soothe the intensity, and to stay embodied to the energy as it surges through your belly and nervous system.

Something is longing to be met, that is for sure. An avalanche of previously disowned feeling, emotion, and sensation, seeking some sort of completion that was not available at an earlier time. Maybe it was triggered by your partner, a co-worker, a family member, or by a mysterious, unknowable shift in the natural world.

It can seem that there is no way for you to close the loop, that it’s just too much.

Open your heart into the too-much-ness, slowly, for very short periods of time, and then rest. Even one or two seconds is enough to give birth to a new world. To begin to encode the circuitry of pure loving kindness.

Soften into your belly, feel your heart beating, and turn into the shakiness. Use your breath, your awareness, and your warmth to create new pathways of self-care. Take pause from the ancient belief that you must quickly understand, shift, or transform your immediate experience.

Perhaps there is nothing to “heal” for now. Only something to hold.

Despite how difficult it can be, the fruits of this work are infinite and eternal. And may be why you have come here: To make a love offering to a weary world. And to do whatever you can to help others to recognize and to rest in their majestic true nature."

Practice awareness and master your fear of the unknown by approaching it with curiosity and enthusiasm.
20/04/2020

Practice awareness and master your fear of the unknown by approaching it with curiosity and enthusiasm.

When we are in a state of fear, typically what we do is select the worst-case scenario & then prepare ourselves emotionally for when it occurs. Now when we get it right, we are proud of ourselves and say, look how smart I am, I predicted that. But what happens when you don't get it right? That's called anxiety, insomnia, neurosis. It's called OCD. And the reason being is because as we select that worst-case scenario and embrace ourselves emotionally for the outcome. You are combining that thought & feeling and you move into a new state of being. This knocks our brain & body out of balance just by thought alone. ⁣

So the fear then becomes an addiction and we begin to reaffirm that addiction because we keep thinking about the thoughts that create those emotional states. Now, the repetition of that cycle conditions the body to become the mind emotionally. So if you keep doing it, sooner or later you're going to program fear into your body as the mind, which means it's going to have a panic attack without you, try as you may with your conscious mind to change it. But it has been programmed subconsciously. ⁣

So if people can continuously bring their body back into the present moment in meditation and practice being present, you can't be afraid if you're in the present moment. The side effect of that is every time you bring the body back into the present, you're reconditioning it to a new mind, which means the body is no longer the mind.⁣

The body being the animal or the servant, all of a sudden, is being conditioned by a new mind. We have been programmed by society to fear the unknown. Because when you're in fear, the best thing to do is run from the unknown. Because the animal in the wild who's hearing something around the corner and doesn't know what it is, it's going to run because there's a better chance of survival. So when we're living by fear and the hormones of stress, we run from the unknown. But if you truly overcome your fear, then the unknown becomes an adventure. The unknown is the best place to create from and that's when it gets exciting.⁣ Now, is the time to be greater than our fear❤️

Be safe. Be well. Be love. Be Free

Be safe. Be well. Be love. Be Free

We are Resurrected! ~~

Since this “event” began ... my whole being, down to my very soul, has been screaming that something is very, very wrong here. As many others have shared this sentiment, “This has been a total sh*t show and a huge mind fu*k!” (Sorry) And it is not over. We have been manipulated and brainwashed by the fear mongering tactics of the 1%. It has pummeled us from all conceivable directions, and we are drowning in it. The media is spouting very questionable stats continuously like this was a sporting event, with purposely inflated and magnified misinformation. They have been gaslighting us and farming us, in the most outrageous, emboldened, overtly visible way possible, and it worked. They have made us afraid of each other and quickly made the mass population police themselves. On our own, we volunteered to barricade ourselves up without a complaint. We have stockpiled and hoarded supplies, and we have left other people with nothing and no regard for their well-being. What is most shocking to me is that our people are too afraid to protest the loss of their rights. We have become afraid of our mortality even when we know that we are not these bodies. We feel this even with the media reports stating more than 80% of the cases are mild and even undetectable. This experiment on humanity has ruined the most fragile population in the lower rungs of the human ladder, and we didn’t stand up for them. They may never recover, and they are our brothers and sisters. What has happened to our humanity?! Why have we lost our centers? Have we gone mad?

This was an insane test to see how easily the 1% could control us, and now a huge precedent has been set. Systematically limiting of our free will and relinquishing our freedoms as human beings will become normalized if we allow it. I just pray for our children’s future. I pray we can stop this from happening. But this is up to us ALL! We are ready for this. We have prepared for this! This is IT!

When this peak is over, when we open our doors and let the sun light in and breathe the fresh air, we need to move forward to a more balanced normal, because THIS is not normal. Humanity has been extremely wasteful, and we live with over consumption. This is simply not sustainable. We all know this by now. We need to feel naturally abundant, so we don’t hoard, stockpile, over spend and shop, while others go without, even when they might need it more than us. We need to know that we are safe and that God is within each of us equally. God is universally abundant in all ways. We need to know our amazing bodies protect themselves every day from billions of harmful bacteria and viruses, and will keep us well until it is our divine time. We need to remember that our divine plan is in charge. God within is in charge, and not a non-living virus, if that is what this really is. We need to protect our natural, God given, human rights of personal freedom and free will, and go out and live it. We need to trust our hearts and our gut, and follow it with full blown resolve. And simply ... we need to hug each other, and show our love, and sit and have a meal with friends. We need to go out on our Mother Earth TOGETHER and give our love and thankfulness for the fact that we are allowed to be on this planet at all. After all, I am sure that we have tested Mother Earth’s patience long enough. We need to do this because of a core fact that .... “When two or more are gathered, I AM am there”. We are not meant to be sitting home alone. We are meant to be united together in support of Earth and humanity.

This time is so very multifaceted, complicated and confusing. We must live from a deep, global compassion, and act with respect and caring of our communities no matter what their beliefs systems are, while protecting our personal rights and freedoms at the same time. We are still learning how to manifest both of these simultaneously within us.

So when the peak is over, never quit living because of the brainwashed fear that we have been force feed. Live because you know your TRUTH within. Live from the place that is in your heart truth, and allow others to do the same for themselves. We are born with love, but we have learned fear. Act from your truth, not false fear. It is time that we finally unlearn fear once and for all. This will be the greatest thing that we can learn in this time as we huddle in our homes with the illusion of our safety stockpiles. That alone should be an eye-opener for us all. I pray that we all learn from this powerful time. I pray that we will stop spiritual bypassing the challenges by trying to make this event a good thing. I pray that we will begin to be totally present, face all the hard stuff too, and work together for new and higher solutions. It is simple ... hold fast to your inner truth and core balance, and live from this new world we are in. Allow the resurrection of your being, bring a new balance to our world, and let’s all RISE UP. This is the resurrection of our world!

FYI.... It took me weeks before I had the nerve to send this message out as it was received. So if you don’t like what I share here, please don’t read it. If there is any negative / conspiracy-based made comments, they will be taken down, as there are better places for this, and this was not the intent of this message.

BE Well. BE Safe BE Love. BE FREE! 💕
