Are you confident with the phases of your cycle? When you’re fertile, when you’re not?

I’m still surprised by the number of women who come to me not knowing when they ovulate. Or relying on an app for confirmation.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this can be wildly inaccurate.

Yes, there’s a bit to know when it comes to understanding your personal signs of fertility through cervical mucous changes. I chat about this in my Hormone Reset program.

But one of my fav ways to track my cycle alongside this, is through temperature. But forget the days of having to lie still in bed for 10 minutes before manually taking your temperature. Nope, I’m lazy and forgetful when it comes to that.

I now use the convenient route. Basically I wear a band around my arm at night, and as long as I’ve had 4 hours uninterrupted sleep, my temperature is taken for me.

When I wake, I simply sync with my phone and voila, this powerful cycle feedback is charted. So much can be detected from the pattern of my chat.

From delayed ovulation, to ovulation confirmation, to hormone imbalances with your thyroid and progesterone... plus more.

How is that so, you ask? You can tell if your thyroid is working properly as T3 (the active thyroid hormone) controls your temperature. If it isn’t between 35.5 and 37.3 degrees C, then thyroid support may be necessary.

When progesterone is at a healthy luteal phase level, your temperature will clearly spike and stay raised in the luteal phase of your cycle, until just before your period. If it drops too early, or doesn’t raise at all, this indicates either ovulation hasn’t occurred or there is inadequate progesterone being produced for this stage of your cycle (and hence you would have trouble sustaining a pregnancy).

Fascinating, I know!

When life throws a curve ball 😫😭

I’ve had my ugly cry of pain, let out the frustration of learning my injury diagnoses & leant into the decision overwhelm & recovery options that lay ahead.

I’m not 100% on what road I’ll take, but in the meantime I’m downing all the natural potions set me up for a strong knee (and whole body) recovery 💪🏽

Hey ✌🏽 I’m here to stop the scroll for a sec.

I feel like it’s time to reintroduce myself after some new additions to my community.

Here’s a few things about me:

🌻I’ve always been a country girl. My childhood on Kangaroo Island was filled with climbing trees & rounding up cows on horseback on our fam farm. After a stint in the big smoke (Adelaide), I’ve found myself back in the country, raising our girls alongside a flock of chickens.

👒 My job titles have included a tour guide, bar tender, massage therapist & health food shop retailer all before I was officially crowned a Naturopath & Nutritionist. It’s now been 16 years of helping women balance their hormones to look & feel their best. Time flies when you’re having fun!

🍃Some friends call me hippy or naturo. If there’s a way to support the body using our gifts of nature, I’ll go with that. I’m obsessed with watching the sunrise, being barefoot on the grass, frolicking around my (amateur) fruit & veg patch & whipping up nourishing meals in the kitchen. Plus, I get a rush of endorphins from moving my body.
