Can you relate to this?
I asked one of my clients what led her to seek support and here's what she told me.

Curious about REIKI? read on............

Selfcare is not 'new'. Practices for self-care for body, mind and spirit have existed in all cultures for centuries.

The Reiki energy healing and spiritual development system was introduced into Japan by a lay Tendai Buddhist priest named Mikao Usui in 1922.

Mikao Usui had begun his own spiritual path, devoting himself to the studies and practices of Tendai Mikkyo Buddhism, Shintoism, martial arts and Shugendo. Usui received divine inspiration while fasting (an esoteric Shugendo practice) on Mt Kurama in 1922. His enlightenment led to him developing a system of healing and spiritual development that was accessible to all – a spiritual practice, not a religion.

Mikao Usui (born 1865) brought together the essence of what he had learned from his years of spiritual searching into a method that enabled the everyday person to reconnect with their innate spirituality.

The essence of this system is that healing exists within each person, and therefore the importance of daily self-healing practice, daily meditation, recitation of the precepts and living life according to these precepts. Usui developed Reiki as a system of healing and spiritual development that is holistic, with hands-on healing only one aspect.

Reiki isn't just about 'healing' others - it's about self-care.
