Mount Feathertop! This is possibly the hardest hike I've done (not that many) in terms of the heat, dry alpine air and steepness. For example, it took us an hour there-and-back to get water at the closest spring after we set up camp at Federation hut. Lots of loose rock and narrow paths with sheer drops over the side. Worth it? Definitely. Will I be back? Possibly, but not in a hurry!

Managed an overnight hiking trip in the end down on the Mornington Pen*sula, away from any fires. We hiked into the Lightwood creek campsite, then walked down to Bushrangers Bay and back, and a little bit more towards Green bush to see the grass trees.

A bit of luxury with filter coffee, home-made dehydrated jackfruit laksa and powdered chocolate mousse for dessert. Next time, prepare double portions of mousse!

I just finished a week of aikido training with great friends. Unfortunately, my holiday plans for hiking this week have been put on hold due to bushfire risks. So, I've reopened my bookings from Wed Jan 14. See you then!

Christmas trifle given a very 2025 makeover - MATCHA STRAWBERRY 🍓🍓🍓

Green tea sponge, drizzled with a green tea syrup, strawberry jelly, strawberries, vanilla cream alternating with a green tea cream. A couple of raspberries have sneaked in there, I think they make everything a bit fancier.

🎄🎁🔔 Holiday trading hours - last day to come in before Christmas is Sat Dec 20. Back at work Wed Dec 31 (great to use up any private health rebates) and Saturday Jan 3.

Then I'm taking a 2-week break for aikido and hiking. I'll start back on Wed Jan 21.

Started the day with an otter sighting and finished with a concert. This is the first time I've been seen both celebrities!

In the last 24 hours, I
- cooked more kangaroo mince for the dogs
- did a load of laundry
- finished all my patient notes
- stocked up the fridge
- went to aikido class
- made garlic butter from scratch because I refused to buy some for B

I'm ready to do nothing for the next 8 hours. Mumcation is go! 😊

Morning walk, Lake Weyba, Noosa. Plenty of birdlife before 7am (before the birds head to the coffee shops 😉). Heard a magnificent laugh from a kookaburra, makes you want to laugh yourself!
