Pilates is a form of exercise developed in the 1920’s to work the mind and muscle in harmony, and is great for those looking to achieve graceful movement, long lean muscles and a strong stream lined physique. Pilates is a common method of mind-body fitness and is gentle enough to be used by physiotherapists as a rehabilitation tool, right through to top level dancers and athletes for body conditioning. This form of exercise works to strengthen all of the muscles in the body, is low impact and is one of the most effective ways to change body shape, improve posture and tone up. Exercise regimes are challenging and can achieve fantastic results for any fitness level or any age. From those wishing to improve their strength, flexibility, and physical fitness, to those with injuries, or during pregnancy. In short this form of exercise is great for anyone. How often should I do Pilates? To see noticeable results in a relatively short period of time Pilates should be practiced regularly for three, one hour sessions per week. Power on Pilates understands that a busy work/life schedule does not always allow for this. We invite people from all walks of life, with a range of personal fitness goals and remind everyone to leave their ego at the door! We ask only that our students commit to achieving their own personal best, and focus mind to mat during the regular sessions they attend to get the best possible results. Why would I attend sessions at Power on Pilates rather than attending sessions at the gym?

• Train with a knowledgeable qualified Pilates trainer, who is passionate about bringing a high standard of Pilates training to clients and is always looking for ways to achieve the best results for the client.
• Small group sessions to ensure that all students get the respect and attention they require to progress and achieve their own desired results.
• Friendly, calm environment which puts the client first, encourages personal growth and support to be the best version of one’s self, rather than comparisons and unhealthy competition and judgement.
• Although Pilates is not a team sport as such we encourage a team-work type of environment. Small classes allow for students to build strong social relationships, inspire and support each other through challenging classes.

At Power on Pilates, we absolutely love seeing you in the studio. Every time you walk through the door, you bring energy, commitment, and your own personal goals—and we’re here to help you reach them.

If you’ve been thinking about coming in a little more regularly, consider this your gentle nudge. Consistency is where the real magic of Pilates happens. With regular practice, you’ll start to feel stronger, move with more ease, improve your posture, and build the kind of mind–body connection that stays with you long after class ends.

Whether it’s once a week, twice a week, or more, showing up for yourself makes all the difference. We notice it, your body notices it, and your future self will thank you for it.

We love being part of your Pilates journey, and we can’t wait to see you in the studio again soon.

In Pilates, the terms beginner, intermediate, and advanced are often misunderstood. They don’t describe how hard an exercise feels — they describe how deeply you understand and can embody the work.

Within the method created by Joseph Pilates, progression isn’t about pushing ahead to something tougher. It’s about refining your control on a deeper level. A beginner exercise requires the fundamentals: centering, concentration, and control. An advanced exercise asks for those same principles, but with greater precision, supported by intentionally guided breath and expressed with seamless flow.

The real difference isn’t just the exercise itself — it’s the quality of how it’s performed.

Revisiting foundational movements is never a step backward. It’s an essential part of the practice. In Contrology, mastery isn’t defined by the “level” you reach, but by the awareness, precision, and integrity you bring to every exercise.

This is a bit of a personal one guys. But I thought I'd just pop it up on our page so as many people as possible see it. If you can't give this lovely lady a good home, please share this with your family and friends. She's so sweet, there has to be someone who can take her in.
