Scar tissue forms after an physical injury or surgery and it can develop on the skin’s surface or inside the body.
It can cause us pain, tightness, itching, or difficulty moving. Due to the way scar tissue matures over time and if you have not managed it well from the start, these symptoms may occur years after the event. But scar tissue isn’t just physical, it is also emotional. Emotional trauma not processed can lodge itself inside our bodies to create emotional scar tissue. It’s emotional energy that has been denied flow and is now trapped. Again this can lead to all kinds of issues for the body mind. Tension, inflexibility, frozen, triggering, guarding, shut down, compensating, etc etc. Notice areas in your body that seem to always cause you trouble and discomfort. You might not actually have a scar visible but if you palpate the area you most likely will feel into an area of hardness, lumpy, ropey or tenderness that when touched will give you an odd feeling or discomfort. This is very common when I massage areas with emotional scaring. As I mentioned in last post there can also be a physical scar & emotional scar in one where emotions get stuck in the physical sca tissue…energies from the trauma, the people involved in performing the surgery and the care post trauma.
