Yesterday at My Growing Space we realised we forgot the most important photo of the day… the warm apple turnovers 🍎🥐

The mix of cinnamon, apple and crispy pastry was absolute perfection – too good not to share!
Building skills, confidence… and a few delicious memories along the way. 💛

👩‍🍳 Today at My Growing Space… the kitchen was busy!

Our crew rolled up their sleeves and cooked up a very tasty menu:
• Potato and ham croquettes
• Chewy oatmeal cookies
• Bacon & egg pasta salad
• Warm apple turnovers

Lots of chopping, mixing, laughing and taste-testing — plus practice with:
✅ Following recipes
✅ Sequencing steps
✅ Kitchen safety
✅ Confidence and independence

Referrals welcome for 2026 programs – small groups, big outcomes. 💚

Colleen is our inspiring General Manager of Aged Care Services, leading with heart, purpose, and a sense of adventure that’s as strong as her love for the sea. 💛

Born in the rolling hills of Healesville, Victoria, and raised in Townsville since her teenage years, Colleen has a deep connection to both community and country. In her role, she’s dedicated to helping individuals unlock their full potential and live meaningful, independent lives — something she considers both a privilege and a joy.

What drives her most? The people.
“There’s something deeply rewarding about meeting people from all walks of life — especially those with untapped potential. Every interaction is an opportunity to make a difference.”

Outside of work, sailing is Colleen’s true passion. She's part of a small, enthusiastic racing team and finds freedom and exhilaration on the open water. From yacht racing to hiking iconic Aussie landscapes like Mount Kosciuszko, the Blue Mountains, and the Simpson Desert, she’s always chasing the next thrill. 🧭⛵
Family is everything to her — especially time with her four grandkids and close family friends.

A true foodie, Colleen’s favourites include vibrant Thai and Vietnamese dishes (hello, Pad Thai and Pho!) — and she never says no to a perfectly cooked steak. 🥩🍜

One of her most unforgettable adventures? In 2024, Colleen sailed to Indonesia, embracing wild seas and spontaneous moments that pushed her beyond the comfort zone and left her with stories that still make her smile. 🌊✨

So where to next?
“If I could set sail anywhere in the world, I’d head for places where crystal-clear waves crash against hidden shores. I crave the thrill of discovering remote communities and vibrant, untouched cultures — the kind of adventures that set my soul on fire.”
