Let the Parties Begin...
Monday and Tuesday saw our Acacia, Banksia and Camellia wings celebrate our Pre Christmas lunch with residents and their family members. Our choir joined in to entertain us and compliments to the chef for the beautiful lunch.
Dahlia,Eucalyptus and Fusia wings yet to go.

Friday is Coffee and Chat at the Cafe. On Friday we had special guest Constable Catherine and VIP (volunteer ) Doug, came to chat with us about policing in the area and scams. Coming up in the near future, we will be talking with the residents about scams and risks, it has been a long time coming to get someone in to talk with so, but we are moving forward. Thanks to all the residents and family members that came in to chat with our local cops.

We will remember them.
Our Remembrance Day service was a very solemn day with much reflection, emotion, and love being poured out. The coming together of community and family is huge part of our ethos. Our facility was moved by depth of care and importance of this special day and how we will never forget our fallen, our past, and our depth of gratitude.
WE WILL REMEMBER THEM.

Happy World Science Day... so we went and bit nutty (scientist) today. Making Oobleck. What's Oobleck? I hear you ask... well .. it's like a slime substance, but when applied pressure, it is a solid mass. When picked up, it goes back to a liquid form. Fun, messy, gooey, and we all learnt something.

OAKS DAY at Maryborough Aged Care.
Wow.. did we find some surprises at our fashion parade. Camilla - how beautiful, and thank you for sharing and showing us your amazing dresses. Residents and staff joined in strutting their stuff on the catwalk. Toby/Theresa showed a bit too much shoulder but was a delight to all. Thank you again everyone who participated and hope you all enjoyed your day.

And they are off in the Melbourne Cup... well, that's what we saw. Great food from the kitchen, the horses were ready to run, and lots of sighs from those who lost and joy from those who won. The Maryborough Cup was run, but you'll have to wait for those photos in the next few days. Thanks to Kate putting on a residents silks and boots she hasn't worn in ages, hence the assistance to get them off. Thursday is Ladies Day and the Fashion on the Field. Stay tuned. CUP

Today marks a major milestone in aged care across Australia. The new Aged Care Act 2024 and the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards officially come into effect from 1 November 2025.
