This years' Christmas collection is extra special ✨
Participants from Carpentaria’s Pathways Program worked alongside their Skill Development Coaches to design, print, paint, cut, sew and create a beautiful range of handcrafted festive pieces.

Using recycled wood, fabric and paint, every item tells a story of creativity, teamwork and skill-building.

Let's give an enormous shout out to the frontline members of our team who stepped in to be a Cyclone Hero over the weekend. These 80 staff members provided continuous support and comfort to Carpentaria participants in the lead up to and during Cyclone Fina. They all demonstrated incredible commitment, resilience and compassion, despite the challenging situation.

We also acknowledge everyone in Carpentaria's team who played a part, and are still playing a key role, in managing the event. From administrative and logistics support, through to our Maintenance team, who are working to repair damage and remove trees and debris from Carpentaria homes and facilities as quickly as they can. 🙌

Last week, members of Carpentaria’s Ready for Home team had the opportunity to attend the AAG Ageing at the Centre conference in Alice Springs.

Ready for Home High Intensity Client Services Manager Claire Olssen, alongside NT Health Social Worker - Intensive Case Manager Hannah Dickman, shared an overview of the innovative Ready for Home program. Their presentation highlighted the collaborative partnership between NT Health and Carpentaria, showcasing how this integrated Out of Hospital care approach is making a real difference in aged care transitions.

We’re proud to be part of a team that’s leading the way with new solutions and seeing such positive outcomes for older Territorians.

Courtney (Carpentaria Allied Health Assistant) and Claire (Manager, Ready for Home Program) were pleased to attend the Indigenous Allied Health Australia Health Academy graduation recently.

We send our congratulations to all graduates, with a special mention to Devina and Kiaasha (pictured) who were both awarded an 'Inspiration Award' for their ability to inspire others through their positive, strengths-based approach and dedication to their studies. 🤩🌟

Devina and Kiaasha both completed student placements at Carpentaria, where they were mentored by our multi-disciplinary team of clinicians.

We are proud to host students for placement, and to provide employment and career development opportunities that build the capability of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workforce. Check out these awesome photos from the MXGP of Australia!

We were proud to partner with NT Major Events Company to support access and inclusion initiatives at the brand new MXGP track at Hidden Valley in September.

Carpentaria participants had a fantastic time watching the races and checking out all the entertainment on site, while Harry, this year's Accessibility Ambassador, did an amazing job highlighting the importance of inclusive communities and events.

What an epic weekend it was! We can't wait to do it all again next year. 🏁🏍️

Have you met Jacqui? Jacqui is one of our Senior Occupational Therapists based in Darwin. Her favourite areas of practice include assistive technology (especially wheelchairs!), complex disability, home modifications, and mental health. Jacqui has extensive experience working with adults in aged care and disability services and is an incredible mentor to our New Graduate clinicians.

During OT Week, we asked Jacqui what keeps her motivated in her role, and she said, 'I really love helping people live their best life, on their terms'.

Fun fact: Jacqui loves crafting and crochet, saying 'it's like a fidget toy for me - it keeps my mind focused and my hands busy'. There's a secret stash of blankets crocheted by Jacqui hidden in our Therapy Services office, for those cold aircon days (IYKYK). 🧶❄️

Meet Tahlia, Carpentaria Occupational Therapist 🌟

Tahlia joined our team at the start of this year, having completed her OT studies at Curtin University in Perth in 2024. Influenced by her upbringing in Esperance, in rural South West WA, Tahlia is passionate about supporting better health outcomes for rural and remote communities.

Recently, Tahlia completed her first trip out to Manayingkarírra (Maningrida), supported by experienced clinicians in Carpentaria's Remote Therapy Team. She's looking forward to more remote trips in the new year, and the opportunity to expand her skillset. ✈️
