It was great to see accessibility front and centre at the recent NRL match between the Dolphins and Panthers. From the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Initiative and Carpentaria sensory bags to the Accessibility Information stand, Changing Places facility and accessible viewing platform, attendees of all abilities enjoyed the night, cheering as the Penrith Panthers narrowly defeated the Dolphins, 23–22.

The stadium’s vibrant atmosphere made the event a memorable community gathering and we are proud to partner with Tourism and Events NT on events such as this.

Here are some highlights from the evening 📷

Over the past month, participants in Carpentaria's Nailed It woodworking program have worked on a special Anzac Day wreath, taking turns to cut, sand, engrave and paint each individual leaf and flower.

Commissioned by the Northern Territory Public Guardian and Trustee, and proudly presented by participants to Public Guardian Beth Walker, this unique piece will be laid at the upcoming Anzac Day Commemoration this Saturday at the Darwin Cenotaph War Memorial.

'My role allows me to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others every day. I am passionate about supporting people to live with dignity, independence and quality of life.

I enjoy building relationships with the people I support and seeing my positive impact on their daily lives. It’s incredibly rewarding to help participants feel comfortable, valued and heard.

Carpentaria is a supportive and inclusive workplace where both staff and participants are valued. The work is challenging but incredibly fulfilling; no two days are ever the same. I have grown professionally and personally, and I’m proud to contribute to an organisation that makes a real difference.'
