Our office-based Independent Living team recently joined together to celebrate Dashain, a significant Nepalese festival symbolising the triumph of good over evil. It was a wonderful opportunity to share culture, food and connection. Wishing all who celebrate a Happy Dashain!

Did you know that every conference booking at Harry's Place, and every catering order from the Cafe at Harry's Place directly supports employment and training outcomes for people with disability?

As a not-for-profit organisation, we reinvest in our programs. Since our Cafe opened in 2021, we've supported multiple trainees with disability to learn valuable workplace and hospitality skills while engaged in meaningful employment.

Every conference, coffee, and quiche contributes to new learning opportunities, equipping our trainees with the skills and experience to transition into mainstream employment.

Want to hold your next conference, work meeting, or training session at Harry's Place? Visit carpentaria.org.au/conference-facilities to learn more or book in.

It's Dementia Action Week, an important time to honour those living with dementia, to support their families and loved ones, and to help raise awareness about dementia within our community.

Today we held a BBQ lunch to shine a light on the incredible work being done in our Ready for Home (RFH) program, to ensure dignity, respect, and quality of life for older Territorians.

Our program honours a simple belief – that a diagnosis of dementia does not take away someone's right to a meaningful life. Our RFH team make it their mission to encourage connection, community participation, and engagement in meaningful activities, leading to great outcomes and increased quality of life for participants.

Today's gathering, sharing food and laughter, is a reminder of what community is all about. πŸ§‘πŸ˜„πŸ§‘πŸΌβ€πŸ€β€πŸ§‘πŸΌ

Thank you to Coles Casuarina for their support of today's event – the sausage sizzle was delicious!
