From the rain came our rainbow.
Announcement #1: We had another baby! It has been a very long, quiet and closely monitored nine months. I've been on a complete exercise ban and at last can return to moving my body. After two back to back pregnancies there's a bit of a recovery road ahead for me before I can take full flight. This is the perfect opportunity for me to spend some time road testing a few new offerings currently in development at the studio. It might be time for an update...
In recent times we have started to notice a number of people reaching out wanting to know when our studio will be resuming operation. Please know we love and miss you all and will most definitely be welcoming you back in the future. At present we are still navigating the neverending grief that comes with losing a child. Over the past year we have made use of the beautiful Tree House to create joy in other ways; we hosted our ten year anniversary/vow renewal in the treetops and have completely restored our gypsy caravan up here. Moving forward we will continue to focus on our family and create happy memories to help us heal.
With that being said, there are several rather big announcements on the horizon for those who are eagerly awaiting our return. We are busy behind the scenes, developing lots of fresh, new offerings and look forward to sharing more with you all as Summer approaches.
Thank you for giving us the time, space and energy we have needed on this unexpected part of the journey ❤️

Nature never questions when and why the leaf falls from the tree. It simply accepts, surrenders and releases when the time is right. The energy of the leaf does not disappear, it simply returns to the earth and shares in the nurturing of the tree and everything around it.

Our baby girl, Tasmyn Rose, arrived sleeping on the 18th June. Her beautiful energy surrounds and nurtures us as we mourn the loss of her physical presence. We are leaning into nature to guide us as we come to accept, surrender and release ourselves to our circumstances. Our family are encircled by love and support at this time. We hope our girl helps us grow and blossom through this next season.

This first one is a big one! A major reason why we decided to take a little break from the studio was so that I could fully invest in supporting my amazing husband launch his new business. So proud to announce that is officially up and running! That giant shed you saw being built each week is now a fully operational workshop! Could not be prouder of all the work that has gone into this venture and can't wait to see this baby thrive under the leadership of the hardest working kiwi in the land. ANNOUNCEMENT #3: BACKFLIP!
This is not at all the original announcement I had planned. It is a hard a heartbreaking moment for me to share with you all that The Tree House will be taking a pause in 2022.
The current health crisis in our community has evolved to a point where I can no longer safely manage the space for myself, my family and you my beautiful and valued clients.
What is being asked of small businesses at this time is simply becoming unachievable for me, particularly during my pregnancy.
To shed some light for you, I've outlined some of the reasons I've made this difficult decision:
* As my pregnancy progresses it will become increasingly challenging for me to constantly climb ladders and retrieve hammocks for washing as well as sanitising the whole studio every single lesson.
* My prenatal experience and privileges will become significantly compromised by virus exposure (which is already high risk through my work as a school teacher).
* The safety of aerial lessons is being compromised by having to maintain social distancing and a hands off approach to guiding students through sequences without physical support. Something that goes against the very essence of my aerial teaching pedagogy.
* The time, costs, stress and heartache of potential closure, testing, isolating, deep cleaning etc should we become an exposure site, is simply too much for me to manage in the coming months.
Things are incredibly weird at present. There is so much confusion, fear and inconsistency. Everything changes in the blink of an eye and keeping up with current rules, regulations and recommendations whilst shutting out the misinformation and media propaganda is making it incredibly difficult for businesses to survive and for individuals to decide how to best navigate their daily lives. In ordinary circumstances I would be far more inclined to 'stick it to the man' but at present I must put my family first. As we are welcoming our baby girl in winter we will be taking some time to adjust to our new family dynamic and will then reassess how to move forward. This is not the end and there is much taking place behind the scenes that I will continue to unveil

ANNOUNCEMENT #1
Soooo..... this is the announcement that has been holding up all other announcements. We have another new little flyer joining The Tree House family in July! Little Miss has been giving me quite a rough go of it over the last few weeks and our Summer Series start date is currently being held hostage by my "all day" sickness (morning?!! Pah-lease!). This big news paired with accepting a teaching position in 2022 has required a reshuffle of plans for the studio this year. Renovations are still underway but with slightly different goals for how the space will now operate. We have some appointments in the coming days that will further impact our next few announcements so stay tuned- there is much more exciting information to come!
