During summer we see more cases of Swimmers Ear. Swimmers ear (otitis externa) is an outer ear infection, caused by a build up of bacteria in the ear after swimming. It is usually characterised by pain in the ear and sometimes an itchy or muffled ear.
Book a consultation with one of our prescribing pharmacists who can conduct a complete ENT examination, help you manage your symptoms and prescribe antibiotic ear drops if required.

The UV index is expected to soar over the next week with levels up to 13 and above. Don’t forget to pick sunscreens with a high level of protection. Look for sunscreens containing zinc and titanium dioxide which help provide a strong physical barrier from the sun.

The silly season can bring on worsening of reflux symptoms.
Reflux or heartburn is characterised by burning chest pain after meals, sour taste in the mouth, burping or indigestion. It is caused by the acid in our stomach coming back up into our food pipe.
Eating bigger meals, spicy food, consuming too much alcohol and smoking can be triggers to worsening reflux.
Our pharmacists are now able to conduct a physical examination to diagnose and write a prescription for you to treat your reflux. Book in for a consultation if you have symptoms.
