Neck feeling tight after a day on your phone or laptop? 😣📱

“Text Neck” isn’t a diagnosis—it’s a sign your neck and upper back are doing the same thing for too long. The result can be aching at the base of the skull, shoulder-blade tension, and even headaches.

Myotherapy helps by settling irritated tissues and restoring easy movement. Your Myotherapist will assess what’s driving your symptoms—screen height, head position, breathing patterns, and upper-back mobility—then use targeted soft-tissue techniques, gentle joint mobilisation, and movement cueing to reduce strain.

You’ll also leave with simple, doable exercises and day-friendly strategies—plus breathing that lets your ribs move (so your neck doesn’t do all the work). Think micro-moves every 30–45 minutes and eyes-up screen habits. 💆‍♀️🧘‍♂️

Small changes add up: less muscle guarding, easier rotation, and fewer end-of-day headaches. If symptoms are severe, spreading, or unusual, seek medical advice.

Struggling with sharp pain on the outside of your knee from ITBS? 🤕

This is usually a loading and control issue—not just a “tight band”. Myotherapy tackles both the causes and the symptoms so you can move more comfortably again.

In a treatment session, a Myotherapist will often:

🔍 Pinpoint drivers (hip control, stride, hill volume, bike fit).
🤲 Use targeted soft-tissue work around the TFL (tensor fasciae latae), quads and lateral glutes to calm irritation.
🔄 Apply gentle joint mobilisation to improve hip and knee mechanics.
🎯 Add glute-med/lateral-chain activation so strength does the heavy lifting.
🩹 Use taping if needed for short-term relief.
📈 Give you a simple load plan (cadence tweaks, surface choices, gradual return to running/cycling).

Results you can feel: less sharp outside-knee sting, a smoother stride, and a clear path back to training—without guesswork.

Ready to settle your flare-up and get moving again?

Feeling stiff and tired after the weekend when you've pushed it a bit too hard on the field, the court, or the trail? 😩

Whether you're dealing with the ache of Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS) or a specific ni**le from a weekend game, a post-sport Myotherapy session is one of the best things you can do for your body.

Don't let weekend soreness derail your week!

⚡️ Speed up your recovery: By increasing blood flow and flushing out metabolic waste, helping to ease that deep muscle ache faster.

🔍 Address minor strains: Treatments can assess any specific tweaks or strains, helping to manage them before they turn into more significant injuries.

🤸 Restore your mobility: Work to release the tension and stiffness that builds up after intense activity, improving your range of motion for the week ahead.

If you gave it your all on the weekend, Myotherapy can help your body recover properly so you're ready to go again.

That dull, squeezing pressure around your head that builds throughout the day... Sound familiar? 😩

This is a classic tension headache, and its source is often not in your head at all. It's usually caused by a "Tension Triangle" — a pattern of tightness between your jaw, neck, and shoulders from daily stress and posture.

A Myotherapist is an expert at finding and releasing the specific muscle knots and restrictions in this triangle that refer pain into your head. You don't have to live with constant tension headaches or rely on painkillers for relief.

Learn how a Myotherapist targets the muscular source of the problem to help you find lasting comfort. 👇

Spending hours at a desk 💻 or binging your favourite TV shows 🍿?

That knee pain you feel after standing up might be more than just stiffness! Prolonged sitting can be a sneaky trigger for Patellofemoral pain, often called "Movie-goer's Knee."

Here's why:

➡️ Direct Pressure: Keeping your knees bent for extended periods can put pressure on the cartilage behind your kneecap. Ouch!
➡️ "Gluteal Amnesia": Sitting for too long can actually make your glutes (your powerful butt muscles!) forget how to work properly. When they're not firing, other muscles have to compensate, often leading to poor knee mechanics and that pain around your kneecap.

So, how can Myotherapy help you break free from this cycle?

✅ Release tight hip flexors (those muscles get super tight from sitting!).
✅ "Wake up" and strengthen your sleepy glutes.
✅ Improve the way your kneecap tracks in its groove with targeted soft tissue techniques.
✅ Provide you with exercises and advice to keep you moving and pain-free, even if your day involves a lot of sitting.

Don't let prolonged sitting lead to knee pain that stops you from enjoying your active life. Let's get those glutes firing and your knees feeling great again!

31/07/2025

If you feel numbness or tingling in your arm and hand, it’s easy to assume the problem is where you feel the symptoms... but often, the true cause is located somewhere else entirely. 🗺️

Two common culprits that feel similar but are very different are Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS), and Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (TOS).

With CTS, the issue is at the wrist. Repetitive movements can cause the median nerve to become compressed, leading to numbness on the thumb-side of the hand, often feeling worse at night. 🌙

In contrast, TOS originates from your neck and shoulder. Poor posture or overuse can cause muscles to tighten and compress the nerve bundle in this area, typically causing symptoms on the pinky-side of the hand. This can be triggered by overhead movements or carrying heavy bags. 🤷‍♀️

❌ Treating your wrist simply won't help if the problem is at your shoulder. This is why a thorough assessment is crucial!

Myotherapists assess the entire nerve pathway from your neck to your fingertips to pinpoint the true source of compression, ensuring you get the right treatment for the right problem. 🔎

Understanding the difference is the first step to finding effective relief. 💡

Feeling a bit like the Tin Man when you first get out of bed? 🤖 That feeling of being stiff, achy, and needing time to "warm up" is a common complaint.

While some morning stiffness is normal as our joints and muscles have been inactive all night, you don't have to start every day feeling completely locked up!

Often, the severity of that morning stiffness is linked to the underlying muscle tension and restrictions you carried with you from the day before.

Myotherapy can help by addressing the root cause. We work to:

✅ Release chronic muscle tension so your body can truly rest and repair overnight.
✅ Improve overall joint mobility and flexibility, reducing that "stuck" feeling.
✅ Boost circulation to help flush out inflammatory substances that can pool overnight.
✅ Provide you with simple stretches and mobility exercises to start your day better.

Don't let morning stiffness dictate the start of your day. Myotherapy can help you wake up feeling looser, more mobile, and ready to go.

As Myotherapists, one of our goals is to release restricted fascia and muscle. 🎯 A powerful way we achieve this is with Cupping Therapy, which uses suction to gently lift and separate tissue layers.

What is Cupping? 🤔

Cupping is a technique where suction cups are used to gently lift the skin, fascia, and underlying muscle. This lifting action is the opposite of massage (which compresses tissue) and provides a unique feeling of decompression and release. 😮‍💨

How Do Myotherapists Use It?

For us, cupping isn't a standalone treatment; it's a specific tool used to address your unique issues after a thorough assessment. ✅

What are the Benefits? 🌟

💨 Decompress and release tight muscles and fascia.
🩸 Increase blood flow to promote healing and reduce soreness.
💪 Decrease pain and stiffness.
🤸 Improve your range of motion and flexibility.

Curious if cupping could be integrated into your treatment plan? Chat with your Myotherapist at your next session! 👋

Love walking, but hate that nagging pain in your heels, shins, or hips? You're not alone. 🚶‍♀️😩

Often, the aches that derail a great walking routine aren't random. They're clues pointing to an underlying issue, like a muscle imbalance or a problem with your gait.

For example:

👉 That stabbing heel pain is often caused by tight calf muscles.
👉 Those aching shin splints are frequently linked to weak hips.
👉 That nagging hip or back ache can be a sign your core isn't providing enough support.

A Myotherapist is an expert in finding these connections! We assess your movement to find the why behind your pain, providing hands-on treatment and a plan to help you walk stronger and pain-free.

Discover more about the common causes of walking pain and how to fix them.
