Bit of a trick question today—the answer is "Myth"! 🎯

While some injuries do need gentle movement through mild pain to aid recovery, there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to rehab. Pain and injury vary greatly, so it’s important to tailor your recovery process appropriately.

If you’re dealing with an injury or experiencing pain during movement, consult a physiotherapist or exercise physiologist. They’re experts in prescribing the right exercises to prevent injury and support your rehab journey!

Today is R U OK? Day, but at Move for Mindfulness, we believe in asking this question every day.

R U OK? is more than just a question; it’s the start of a conversation, an opportunity to seek help, and the beginning of a journey toward better mental health. It gives friends, family, co-workers, or even strangers the space to be open and honest.

Check out our video for ideas on how to start these important conversations and tips on how to support yourself and others through them.

Remember, if you’re not okay, help is available and we’re here to support you every step of the way!

If you guessed "myth," you’re right!

It's normal to feel some muscle soreness 6-36 hours after exercise, but you should rarely experience pain while working out. Sharp, intense, or persistent pain during exercise is usually a warning sign that you might be injuring yourself.

If you're experiencing pain, it's a good idea to see a physiotherapist to assess for any injuries and get advice on how to safely return to exercise. Stay safe and listen to your body!

Sit-ups are great for toning and strengthening your abdominal muscles, but they won’t specifically target belly fat.

Unfortunately, there’s no single exercise that can reduce fat in just one area of your body. Instead we need to prioritise safe, mindful exercise, and healthy eating, and practice patience and self love for our bodies.

If your weight is something this is concerning you however, try having a chat to our Exercise Physiologists and Dietician team, sometimes a little advice is all you need to get you set on the right track!

Today marks the battle of Long tan - Australia’s most costly battle in the Vietnam War.

Today we pause and reflect on the bravery, teamwork and endurance that Australians displayed throughout the war.

We honour those veterans who:

- Lost their lives during battle returned home wounded, ill or injured.
- Lost their lives in the years since they returned.
- Still carry the physical and emotional scars of their service

Bundamba and Toowong clinics invite any veteran that may be struggling both mentally an/ or physically, and hope we can make just a small different to the lives of those who risked theirs to save our country.
