Vale Clark Gable, chief therapy dog here at Schnauzerhaus. He had a long and illustrious career as a champion show dog, a top stud dog, a magic therapy dog, and a beloved companion in his downtime. He crossed the Rainbow Bridge last week and is buried here at Schnauzerhaus underneath a beautiful magnolia, which can be seen from the kitchen window. In the following posts we will write about how he became a therapy dog quite by accident.

Judith has 35 years experience in teaching, educational psychology, counselling and psychotherapy.
Setting up private practice and educating my clinical therapy dogs and myself to an exacting standard has been a long, challenging but fulfilling journey. We are re-assessed in clinical therapy work, and undergo mandatory professional development and ongoing professional supervision annually. We are currently undertaking ongoing study at ‘Animal Assisted Therapy Programs’, Colorado.

Toowoomba Based Trained Schnauzer Therapy Dogs…
Schnauzerhaus uses Schnauzers as Therapy Dogs in a their Clinical Counselling Services. Research has also shown that having animals incorporated within the therapeutic process can assist to reduce anxiety, increase relaxation, increase social interaction, increase communication within sessions, as well as act as an intrinsic motivator to engage with the canine assisted intervention.
