Quick question: do you know how your medications will handle heat? 🤔

Some medications can be affected by extreme heat, and certain prescriptions can actually change how your body handles hot weather. It’s worth checking with your GP or pharmacist before the next heatwave hits.

What to find out:
● Will your medical condition be affected by extreme heat?
● How much water should you drink in hot weather?
● What temperature should your meds be stored at?

Sort this out now, rather than when the temps are high and you're feeling off.

Reminder: Stinger season is here! ⚠️🐙

Australia’s tropical waters are home to some harmful jellyfish including box jellyfish and Irukandji, collectively known as marine stingers.

Marine stingers are present year‑round, but the risk from dangerous jellyfish is highest from November to May.

If you’re heading into the ocean over summer, protect yourself by:
✅ wearing protective swimwear (full body lycra suits or neoprene wetsuits) to reduce sting risk and sunburn
✅ know the symptoms—severe pain, breathing difficulty, nausea, sweating, or collapse
✅ follow operator instructions and use flotation devices where advised
✅ seek immediate help if stung.

Fatigue is a serious health risk. The World Health Organisation and International Labour Organization estimate long work hours (≥55 hours/week) were responsible for 745 000 deaths and 23.26 million disability-adjusted life years in 2016.

📄View our recently published model Code of Practice: Managing the risk of fatigue at work to find out how you can manage these serious health risks

✅To support the model Code, we’ve also published additional resources, including:
