A massive thank you to everyone who joined us for our very first Arts and Crafts Morning this week - it was a fantastic turnout and such a fun way to get creative together!

We’re excited to announce that, due to the great feedback, we’ll be hosting another Arts and Crafts Morning on Monday, 28th September at the MNK House.

• ⁠✏️ jumbo chalk drawing

Join the MNK Team for a Picnic in the Park 💜

As part of our second monthly coffee catch-up and in recognition of Dementia Awareness Month, we warmly invite you to join us for a relaxing picnic at Queens Park on Sunday, October 12th. Lunch will begin at 12:30 PM.

To help raise awareness, we encourage everyone to wear something purple - the official colour of Dementia Awareness.

Did you know that in 2024 there were around 425,000 Australians living with dementia, and that number is expected to nearly double by 2054 if no major interventions are made?
Bringing attention to dementia is more important than ever - awareness leads to understanding, support, and early intervention.

Please feel free to bring a small plate to share, and enjoy some great company, good food, and (hopefully) plenty of sunshine.
It’s also a great opportunity to make new connections or reconnect with familiar faces - friendships old and new are always welcome!

We look forward to seeing you there and sharing a meaningful day together 🌞

Over the past week, MNK participants have been out and about, soaking up the sunshine and joining in the joy of the Carnival of Flowers! From vibrant floral displays to live music, markets, and street parades, it’s been a week full of colour, laughter, and connection. 🌼☀️

It wasn’t just about flowers - it was about community. Our group enjoyed every moment: strolling through the gardens, snapping photos, dancing to local tunes, and sharing smiles with friends old and new.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this week so special. It’s events like these that remind us how beautiful it is to come together and celebrate the season - and each other. 💛

There’s something incredibly powerful about watching someone like Dave walk through life with quiet strength and unwavering resilience. He’s faced challenges that would’ve knocked most people down for good - but Dave? He keeps going. Not with loud declarations, but with that steady determination that speaks louder than words ever could.

But even the strongest among us need a little support. A reminder that we’re not alone. And that’s where Kimba comes in. 🐾

Kimba isn’t just a dog - she’s a loyal sidekick, a calming presence, and a bundle of joy wrapped up in fur and unconditional love. There’s a kind of magic in the bond between a person and their pup. They don’t ask questions. They don’t judge. They just show up, every single day, with wagging tails and hearts full of love.

Watching Dave and Kimba together is a beautiful reminder of the healing power of connection. That sometimes the greatest blessings come with four paws and a nose that nudges you when you need it most. And when they’re as cute as little Kimba? That’s just the icing on the cake.

Here’s to resilience, to loyalty, and to the kind of love that doesn’t need words. ❤️

If you’ve ever had the pleasure of being around her, you know the kind of energy she brings into a room. Sue is one of those rare people who radiates positivity, even on the toughest days. Her spirit is always high, her smile is contagious, and her ability to lift others up is nothing short of inspiring.

Whether it’s a kind word, a burst of laughter, or just her presence - Sue makes everything better. She’s proof that a positive attitude and a good heart can truly change the world, one person at a time. 💛

MNK feels so blessed to be part of her incredible life journey. Supporting and walking alongside her has been a true privilege - she reminds us every day why we do what we do 🦋
