Julie and I have been so busy over the past 8 weeks! While her wonderful horse instructor was away, it gave us some much-needed time to focus on other important things — house hunting, grocery shopping, appointments, running around after her kids, sneaky game of darts in between the chaos and of course spending time with all her animals! 🐾

But the wait is finally over — horse riding is back this week (weather permitting)! It’s definitely been missed, and I can’t wait to see Julie back doing what she loves most and sharing those special moments again. 🐴💛

I’m officially back from holidays and ready to show the world again exactly why I love what I do 💛🐝

This session with Merrin is something I’m so proud to share. Her dedication during boxing was incredible even when things got hard and every part of her wanted to stop, she kept pushing through and gave it absolutely everything she had.

What makes me even prouder is that after such a tough session, she still showed up at Happy Paws and continued to engage, smile, and give her all, even when she felt completely exhausted and “ready to go home and die” (not literally 😂).

The strength, determination, and resilience she showed this day did not go unnoticed. Watching her refuse to give up, even when it would’ve been easier to quit, is exactly why I do this job. So unbelievably proud of you Merrin 💛

Some weeks just remind me exactly why I love what I do 🐝💛

Saturday night, Christopher and I headed out to celebrate his friend’s 40th such a fun night filled with laughs and good company.

Monday was a slower pace, wandering through the shops before heading out to Highfields to one of his favourite cafés, then finishing the afternoon with a scenic drive around Toowoomba. Sometimes the simple days are the best ones.

Wednesday was something really special. Even though my birthday is today, Christopher went above and beyond and surprised me with a cake at Happy Paws so we could celebrate together with all our friends. Honestly, it meant more than he’ll ever know 🥹

What a beautiful way to wrap up the week. Moments like these are why this job never feels like “just work” 💛

Today is World Autism Awareness Day 💙

Autism isn’t something I just support through my work it’s part of my everyday life. As a mum to children who are also autistic, I see firsthand the beauty, strength, and uniqueness that comes with it.

Autism looks different for everyone. It’s not a limitation it’s a different way of experiencing the world. And that deserves understanding, patience, and acceptance.

Through my work with Humble Bee Support Services, and in my own home, I am constantly reminded that the little wins are big wins, that connection matters more than perfection, and that every individual deserves to be seen, heard, and supported in a way that works for them.

Today is about more than awareness it’s about acceptance, inclusion, and celebrating differences.

Together, we make a difference 🐝💙

Easter week at Happy Paws 🐾🐰

Today with Christopher was such a fun and wholesome day from start to finish. We kicked things off hanging out with Vince the Manx cat while watching a video and learning all about the breed, which Christopher really enjoyed.

After that, we met Ravi the Kelpie x Dachshund for a play date he was an absolute vibe while we got creative making Easter adoption posters for all the beautiful cats and dogs looking for homes.

Then out came a little ball of fluff and energy Max the poodle! He was full of beans and so entertaining to watch.

We also spent some time doing enrichment with Barbie the Irish Wolfhound 🌸, filling Kongs with yummy goodies while she happily stayed close by, looking as cute as ever.

To finish up at Happy Paws, we visited the cat adoption area where Christopher got to play with Macy, a super adorable and playful kitty 🐱

We wrapped up the day with a trip to McDonald’s, as his favourite K-pop Demon Hunters have released a meal the perfect ending to such a great day.
