March 8 marks International Women's Day

This years theme is "Balance the Scales". Balance the Scales is a promise that every woman and girl – regardless of background or identity – should be safe, heard, and free to shape her own future. Yet in 2026, millions of women and girls across Australia and the world are still denied that fair go. Discriminatory laws, harmful practices, and gender-based violence remains widespread, while structural barriers continue to block access to justice.

These barriers are not inevitable. They are built – and they can be dismantled.

When women and girls stand equal, families are stronger, workplaces are fairer, communities thrive, and society becomes safer for everyone.

Equality is not about advantage for some; it’s about dignity, safety, and fairness for all.

⛹Whether you’re making your grand comeback to sport from off-season or injury, here are some simple tips to follow to ensure you stay injury free.
🔶Warm up every time. Warming up your body and activating muscle groups helps to reduce risk of injury.
🔶Hydrate and fuel your body. Getting enough water, food and sleep are all factors that contribute to your performance - both on the court or field, and when recovering afterwards.
🔶Pay attention to what you are feeling in your body. If something doesn’t feel right or is causing discomfort, seek advice.

Ready to return to running? 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Pain settling is only part of the picture — your body needs to be strong enough to handle the load.

A simple return-to-run strength check:
✔️ 25 single-leg calf raises
✔️ 25 single-leg squats
✔️ 30 second side plank
✔️ 25 single-leg hamstring bridges

If you can tick these off with good control and no pain flare-up, you’re likely ready to start easing back into running.

Back to school + back to study = back to desks 💻📚

But long hours of homework, study and screen time at a poorly set-up desk can lead to neck pain, back aches, headaches and poor posture.

A few simple tweaks can make a big difference 👇

✔️ Feet flat on the floor, knees and hips at 90°
✔️ Supportive chair with good lower-back support
✔️ Screen at eye level and about arm’s length away
✔️ Shoulders relaxed, ears stacked over shoulders (bye bye tech neck)
✔️ Take a 2–3 min movement break every 30–45 mins

Small changes + regular movement = happier backs.
