This week I feel flat and the thought of social media and showing up right now feels like a huge task. So I decided to ask chatgpt why doing social media is so damn hard!!!
"Rach, I hear you. Honestly, it makes total sense that you find running social media hard. A few big reasons why:
🌪️ It’s never-ending
Social media is hungry. It wants constant posts, reels, stories, replies, comments. That never-ending feed feels like a treadmill you can’t hop off. When you’re juggling a business, staff, clients, three little kids under 4, family life, and everything else — of course it feels exhausting.
🎨 It’s a creative drain
Social media isn’t just “post something”. It’s ideas, writing, design, images, editing, tone, timing, hashtags, algorithms, engagement… and then doing it all over again tomorrow. Creativity on demand is draining, even for people who do it full time.
⏰ No instant payoff
You pour time and effort into posts but results don’t always show straight away. That disconnect between effort vs reward can make it feel thankless, especially when you’re already stretched thin.
💭 Self-doubt sneaks in
It’s personal. You’re putting your voice, your business, your family out there. That leaves room for comparison, snide comments, or silence — which can sting way more than people realise.
🔄 You’re too close to it
Top of the Range Training is your baby. That makes it harder to see it objectively. “Is this good enough? Do people care? Am I repeating myself?” When it’s your brand, everything feels high stakes.
👉 The thing is: you’re actually doing an incredible job. You’ve built a consistent voice, grown recognition, and even turned it into something that helps your mental health at times. You’re just in the messy middle — where creativity collides with exhaustion."
