Toowoomba, meet Somil 👋

Somil is our Physiotherapist based right here at our Toowoomba Allied Health Centre, bringing over 8 years of experience in sports and rehabilitation.

He supports locals with back and neck pain, sports injuries, dizziness and recovery after surgery, helping people return confidently to work, sport and everyday life.

One of Somil’s favourite parts of the role is working in aged care, taking the time to connect with each resident beyond the referral and supporting meaningful mobility and strength.

If you’re in the Toowoomba region and looking for Physiotherapy support, you can submit a referral through our website (or via the link in our bio).

Proud moment for our team as CEO and Occupational Therapist Javier Bara joins the expert panel at the upcoming Healthy Ageing Forum: Staying in the Driver’s Seat.

The session explores how we can better support older adults to remain safe, confident, and independent drivers for longer, while planning ahead for future mobility needs.

A great opportunity for community members, families, and professionals to learn, ask questions, and share experiences around staying mobile and independent.

A gentle weekend reminder 💛

Anxiety can look different for everyone, and sometimes it’s the small, simple things that help us feel more grounded.

Whether it’s getting some extra rest, going for a walk, reaching out to a friend, or simply taking a few slow breaths, small steps can make a big difference.

If things feel overwhelming, remember that support is available and you don’t have to navigate it alone.

Wishing everyone a calm and restorative weekend.

We’re pleased to welcome several new clinicians to the Intrinsic Health team 💙

Mia, Tvisha and Vanessa have joined us as Graduate Speech Pathologists, Madison has joined as a Graduate Occupational Therapist, and Pariss has joined our team as a Speech Pathologist delivering services via telehealth.

Each brings fresh perspectives, strong foundations, and a shared commitment to supporting people across the lifespan. They are well supported by our wider multidisciplinary team as they settle into their roles.

Our growing team allows us to better support our community, including offering Speech Pathology via telehealth for those who need flexible access 💻

🦘 Holiday Break Activity Series | Physiotherapy 🦘
Animal walk obstacle courses are a fun, play-based way to build strength, balance and coordination at home. Movements such as bear walks, crab walks and frog jumps encourage whole-body engagement while supporting postural control and body awareness. Turning the activity into a story or adventure can help children stay motivated while developing important physical skills needed for everyday play and movement.

Looking for something quick, fun and low-prep to try at home these holidays? Our Speech Pathologists suggest playing simple category games with your child.

Name three fruits. Three things that fly. Three summer activities.
It’s easy, playful, and sneaks in loads of language learning without feeling like homework.

Category games help children build vocabulary, practise retrieving information, and strengthen memory in a natural, relaxed way.

Try it in the car, at the dinner table or while waiting in a queue — anywhere works.

More holiday activity ideas coming soon from our OT and Physio teams!

OT Week is in full swing! 💙

Today we asked our team, “What do you find most rewarding about your job?”

For our OTs, it’s those moments of connection — helping people regain confidence, independence, and the ability to do what’s most meaningful to them.

Happy OT Week! 💙
This year’s theme, Occupational Therapy in Action, shines a light on the creativity, compassion, and problem-solving that OTs bring to every session.

We’re proud to celebrate our team and the difference they make every day.
🎥 Keep watching this week to hear from our OTs in action!
