Hi there!

This year, I’m taking on Trek the Trail, a two-day, 75km hike to raise vital funds for the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation and support life-changing cancer care in our region.

Every step I take helps fund exercise physiology services at the Regional Cancer Centre, giving patients the support they need to stay strong through treatment and recovery. Cancer changes lives, but so does community – and together, we can make a real difference.

I’d love your support in helping me reach my fundraising goal. Every donation, big or small, will have a lasting impact. Let’s do this!

Our staff at Ochre Medical Centre Wyalla care for our patients at their most vulnerable time. Our reception, nursing and Drs deserve to be safe and respected in the workplace. Violence or aggression of any kind is not part of the job.

👉 Acts you may consider 'insignificant' like eye-rolling, sneering, talking down to or raising your voice at staff can all have a major impact on their mental wellbeing and very upsetting to them. To you, it might be a one-off incident, but they might be treated like this every single day and don't deserve it.

Please be kind to our wonderful staff.
They are here to help.
They aren't always perfect and don't always get it right, they are only human. Every single one of them always go well and beyond to help our patients needs and truely do care.

It’s NAIDOC Week and we are celebrating with our First Nations team members, patients and communities their rich history, diverse cultures and many achievements. Ochre has been very involved with First Nations communities since we were founded in Bourke over 20 years ago. Today, through our medical centres, we provide care to over 12,000 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients, through our recruitment teams we place locum doctors into Aboriginal Medical Services and other health facilities caring for First Nations communities around the country, and we are proud ongoing sponsors of the Australian Federation of Medical Women “Purple Bush Leaves Medicine Bursaries” which provide Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women with financial support to further their medical careers. After some wonderful NAIDOC events last year, including at our Oakey practice in Queensland (main picture), our program this year culminates with our Walgett practice in Western NSW which on Friday will be hosting a community celebration in partnership with the Western NSW Local Health District. This is open to everybody in the area and will including a smoking ceremony, a welcome to country and dancing.
