Yesterday marked Father’s Day 💙

A day to celebrate all fathers — and gently acknowledge those whose path to parenthood may look a little different.

Male infertility affects as many as 1 in 6 couples, yet it's often left unspoken. Conditions like:

🔹 Klinefelter’s syndrome, a genetic variation that can impact testosterone levels and s***m production
🔹 Oligos***mia, a lower-than-average s***m count with many possible causes — from lifestyle to genetics

These challenges can be deeply personal — and quietly carried. But with the right support and advances in fertility care, many men can still realise their hopes of becoming fathers.

One of our couples, Brooke and Chey Tucker, shared their story in the Sunday Mail — a reminder that while every path to parenthood is unique, it can still lead to the same destination: love, family, and new beginnings.

2025 - Dr Cerqui is Not Retiring !! New Chapters ✨️

As we move into 2025, Dr. Cerqui is shifting his main focus to fertility, IVF, and gynaecological care—including advanced robotic surgery, hysterectomy, endometriosis, fertility surgery, prolapse, and incontinence.

While his emphasis will be on these specialised areas, he will still be available to provide guidance and assistance when needed. His focus on obstetrics will be reduced, but Dr. Liam Dunn will be taking on the majority of the obstetric care, working closely with Dr. Cerqui to ensure comprehensive care for all women, including those in the antenatal program. Dr. Cerqui will continue to provide obstetric guidance and assistance as needed.

Dr. Dunn will also continue to expand his repertoire of gynaecological and fertility procedures, further enhancing the care available to patients.

There have been some misconceptions about Dr. Cerqui's retirement. While some may wonder about his future plans, rest assured – he’s excited to continue supporting women’s health in these evolving ways, refocusing his efforts on areas of women's health where he is most passionate and can offer the most innovative care.

Here’s to a year of growth, innovation, and focused care.

🎄✨️ Christmas baby 👏

Congratulations to Mirriam and Brendan on the arrival of baby Abigail, born on Christmas Day at 10:59 PM! Weighing in at 9 pounds 3 ounces (4.1kg), Abigail was worth the wait, arriving a little overdue. She’s only the second Christmas baby born at St Vincent’s Toowoomba in the last seven years! 🎄

This marks the fourth child for the family, all of whom have been welcomed into the world at St Vincent’s. 💙💜

“We’ve received incredible care for every birth. The maternity team and Dr Cerqui were amazing,” said Mirriam.

This prestigious event is the world’s premier scientific program for gynaecologic surgeons, bringing together over 7,100 physicians from around the globe to share the latest advancements, techniques, and best practices in MIGS.
