Yesterday we celebrated an incredible act of courage and generosity from one of our own. 💛

Georgie, a valued member of our team here at St Andrew’s Toowoomba Hospital, took part in Cancer Council’s Shave for a Cure, bravely shaving her hair to raise funds for cancer research and support services.

Georgie’s story and commitment remind us of the strength, compassion and community spirit that define our hospital. Her willingness to step forward and make a difference reflects the very values we strive to live every day.

If you would like to support Georgie and help fund vital cancer research and patient support, you can donate here:

A beautiful act of kindness brightened our team’s day this week! 🍎

One of our wonderful patients from Stanthorpe always arrives for her treatment with a thoughtful gift, a box of freshly picked apples to share with our staff as a token of appreciation.

Pictured here with our Cancer Care staff is Glenda and her husband Noel. Olly Coco from Coco’s Orchard (Farm Fresh Apples & Juices), also generously donated a box of his delicious apples for our team.

We are so grateful for the kindness and support from our amazing patients and local community. Small gestures like these truly make a big difference and remind us how special our community is. ❤️

A legacy of healing made possible by the Toowoomba community.
Re-sharing a video, worth watching.

In 1961, the people of Toowoomba dared to dream, building a hospital for generations to come. Built by the community, for the community.

From the city’s first CT scanner in 1984, to community fundraising for local cancer care in 1991, to the opening of Radiation Oncology in 2007 with the region’s first linear accelerators, innovation has always been part of our story.

More recently:
✨ 2023 – Breast Mag seed technology & cold cap therapy
✨ 2025 – A dedicated cancer ward

Today, every patient journey is supported by expertise and compassion, with key specialists across all cancer types.
