Our First Evolve baby for 2026 and the first baby born at St Vincent's Private Hospital Toowoomba this year. Congratulations Megan and Sam and welcome beautiful little Mia.

A very warm welcome to Mia Kate Frost, the first baby born at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba in 2026 💜💙

Mia arrived on 2 January 2026, weighing a healthy 3,230 grams, and is already stealing hearts. Proud first-time parents Megan and Sam are thrilled to welcome their beautiful daughter and feel honoured to be the parents of our first baby of the year.

“The midwives and Dr Chettle have been supportive throughout the whole experience," Megan and Sam said.

A special thank you to Dr David Chettle, and to our wonderful midwives Angela and Leah, who supported the family throughout the admission and birth journey.

Congratulations Megan and Sam, and welcome to the world, Mia.

Dr Stevenson & Dr Stinson recently attended a conference in Melbourne. GOU 2025 is a three-day event for medical professionals that focuses on obstetrics and perinatal medicine, featuring global experts with a program of plenary talks and discussions on clinically actionable topics. This year was a 70's themed conference and the speakers sure came dressed to impressed with flares and choregraphed dance moves for their grand entrance to ABBA playing.

If you haven't seen the news already St Vincent Private Hospital's Special Care Nursery has returned to level 4. This means that babies can be delivered and cared for from 32wks gestation. This is wonderful news for all our patients and the community as a whole.

We are delighted to share that from today, our Special Care Nursery at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba has returned to Level 4 capability, meaning we can provide specialised care for babies born from 32 weeks’ gestation, along with advanced monitoring and neonatal support.

Over the past few months, our Special Care Nursery has been operating at a reduced Level 2 capability while we worked to recruit new specially trained staff. We wish to thank our community, patients and families for their understanding and kindness during this time.

We are thrilled to share that we have now welcomed several wonderful new neonatal nurses to our team, whose skills and dedication have made this return possible. We can’t wait to introduce them to you- keep an eye on our social media pages as we share their stories in the coming weeks.

St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba has a proud and longstanding tradition of caring for mothers, babies, and families in our community. Our commitment remains the same- to provide the highest standard of maternity and neonatal care for families in Toowoomba and the Darling Downs, now and into the future.
