Summer is the best time to enjoy the beach but what if you have lower limb pain? Can you still enjoy the sand between your toes?
Sand walking is hard work! It relies on good strength, stability and endurance. Time at the beach is often the cause of complaints we see in the clinic over summer.
A few good tips to follow:
π΄Avoid the soft sand
π΄Avoid walking on the dunes or slopes - head closer to the water for flat hard sand
π’Keep to the firm sand (closer to the water)
π’If you are hitting the beach for a long walk - wear your joggers
π’If you currently have pain, choose the footpath or boardwalk above the beach for longer walks
