As part of Manufacturing Queensland Month we were fortunate to host students from St Mary's College Toowoomba, Harristown State High School, and Wilsonton State High School, together with local business representatives and government leaders, at the Forma 3D lab across the month.

It was a privilege to showcase advanced manufacturing in action, from 3D Printing, 3D scanning to rapid prototyping and real-world problem solving across industries, and to spark curiosity in the next generation of creators, thinkers and makers.

A huge thank you to the students, teachers and leaders who joined us and contributed to such an engaging and inspiring visit.

When original parts aren’t available, 3D printing steps in. 🧩

We recently helped Kent from Glossworks detail lab here in Toowoomba restore his VN Commodore by recreating a damaged speaker cover. Using 3D scanning, CAD, and Tough 2000 resin, we printed a strong, OEM-style replacement.

How cool is this RC Tractor Crawler? 🚜

A hobby project brought to life by one of our customers, Bob. Made up of 50+ custom parts, all 3D printed right here at the Forma 3D Print Lab using ASA and TPU.

We took care of the printing, Bob nailed the rest. From the paintwork to the wiring, it all came together into one seriously tidy build. Was a pleasure helping him bring it to life.

Our first Markforged, and still one of the most valuable tools in the lab. The Mark Two is built for printing strong, lightweight composite parts, reinforced with continuous carbon fibre for strength comparable to machined aluminium.

It’s ideal for functional prototyping, custom tooling, and production-ready parts. We’ve already used it for:

✅ Oxbow stirrups
✅ Fertilizer feeder gears
✅ 300 Series flare endcaps
✅ Dropdown table arms
✅ NGR switch panels
✅ Dust caps & Anderson plug covers

High strength, high precision, and no need for moulds - all printed in-house at the Forma 3D Print Lab in Toowoomba.

Printed, placed, and proudly made in-house. 🧩

Did you know we 3D printed our own signage and card holders? Printed in-house on the Elegoo Giga and Formlabs Form 4L - made practical, made local.
