Did you know using your puffer without a spacer means most of your medication never reaches your lungs? 😲

In this week’s Minute with Molly, I’m showing why using a spacer makes a world of difference for anyone with asthma or on an inhaler.

Here’s the facts 💚
➡️ Without a spacer, only around 10% of the medicine reaches your lungs.
➡️ With a spacer, that can jump to around 25% or more — double the benefit and fewer side effects like throat irritation!

A spacer helps slow and guide the puff of medicine so you can breathe it in deeply and calmly — no tricky timing, just better results.

If you or your child use an inhaler, bring it in next visit and I can check your technique — it only takes a minute, and it can make all the difference. 🙌

Do you wake up feeling tired? It could be sleep apnoea 😴💤

Obstructive sleep apnoea is a common sleep disorder where the upper airway repeatedly collapses during sleep, causing pauses in breathing.

These interruptions can affect your sleep quality and overall health.

Common signs of obstructive sleep apnoea:
- Feeling tired or sleepy during the day
- Waking up gasping or choking
- Loud snoring or pauses in breathing (often noticed by a partner)
- Restless or fragmented/interrupted sleep
- Persistent fatigue and low energy
- High blood pressure that’s hard to manage

If you notice any of these symptoms, you may benefit from a sleep apnoea assessment.

Early detection can save lives — that’s why it’s so important to know the signs and check regularly.

✨ How to check for breast cancer:
• Look for any changes in size, shape, or colour of your breasts 👀
• Feel for any new lumps, thickening, or unusual pain 🤲
• Check for ni**le discharge or changes in direction or appearance
• See your GP or pharmacist if you notice anything unusual — no matter how small 💬

Wilsonton Amcal has been operating under the Amcal banner since 2007. At Wilsonton Amcal we pride ourselves on being part of the Wilsonton community and take an active role in the health of our customers. We regularly hold expos, and events to focus on particular issues, and conditions. We also participate in many fundraising campaigns to assist local and national groups, primarily those which are involved with healthcare research. Our staff undergo rigorous and ongoing training to ensure that they are up to date with health conditions and products that are used to treat them. Our Pharmacists are always available to consult with our customers. We welcome you to visit us in store.
