If you’re thinking of having a breast augmentation procedure, it’s always helpful to get to know your options ahead of time. The shape and volume of the breasts can be surgically altered with tailored fat grafting, or the placement of breast implants.

Fat grafting is designed to achieve a subtle to moderate increase in volume. It works by taking donor fat from another area of your body, purifying the fat and strategically placing it into the breasts. The fat can be carefully shaped to suit your individual body shape and goals.

Breast implants come with more options - you will be able to select your implant shape, size and projection, to highly personalise your results. Your chosen breast implants are placed either above or below the chest muscle.

To learn more about your breast augmentation options, you are welcome to get in touch with our team to schedule a consultation with Plastic Surgeon and Associate Professor Dr Magnusson.

A breast augmentation comes with a wide variety of options when it comes to the type of breast implants that are placed, where they will be placed, and the incision patterns that will be used.

To suit your body shape and preferences, you will be able to select breast implants that are a suitable size, projection and shape for you. Depending on your needs and goals, you may choose either round or anatomical shaped implants, from a wide range of sizes measured in cubic centimetres (CCs), and a suitable projection level (how far the implants will project from the chest).

Your breast implants can be placed either below or above the muscle, which Dr Magnusson can explain in more detail during your consultation. The incision pattern will depend on multiple factors, such as the implant size and your individual anatomy.

Overall, a breast augmentation is a very personalised procedure that is highly tailored to suit your individual needs. If you would like to discuss how the procedure can meet your needs in more detail, please get in touch with our team to book a consultation!

While eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) can make aesthetic changes to the eye area, it can also help to remove excess tissue that may be causing the upper eyelids to obstruct your vision.

Not all patients undergo a blepharoplasty for this reason, but patients who are experiencing these issues may find that the procedure helps to relieve the weight of heavy eyelids and improve comfort levels.

An upper eyelid procedure will need to be planned to suit your individual needs, including planning for the amount of tissue that will need to be removed. For a personalised procedure plan, please contact our team to book your consultation with A/Prof Magnusson.

Scarring is part of any surgical procedure, however, it can be minimised as much as possible by following a few important steps.

Experienced plastic surgeons, like Dr Magnusson, can carefully place incisions in more easily concealed locations, which can already minimise the visibility of any scarring. They can also use specialised techniques to minimise scarring where possible. Then, during recovery, it will be highly important to follow your personalised instructions, which often include to keep the incision sites clean, avoid irritants and any activities that could encourage an infection, and avoid excess sun exposure.

When you meet with Dr Magnusson, he can provide you with personalised advice on how to minimise scarring after a facelift. He can consider your skin type, how well you have healed from any past procedures, and other helpful factors to help you see effective results. Please get in touch with our team if you would like to arrange a consultation.

Sometimes, two different procedures can be combined to allow for more comprehensive results and to allow different areas to be addressed at the same time.

Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) and brow lift surgery are two procedures that may be combined, particularly when excess skin or skin laxity extends from the upper eyelids to the brows or forehead area. Each procedure is specifically designed to address these areas alone, so combining the surgeries means using the techniques and approaches for both methods.

Since not every candidate will be suitable for a combined procedure, candidates will always need to have a careful assessment process with Dr Magnusson to assess their suitability.

If you want to address excess skin on the brows and upper eyelids with a surgical approach, you are welcome to contact our team to arrange your consultation and meet with Dr Magnusson.

An abdominoplasty can specifically be tailored to address excess skin on the abdomen, which can sometimes be accompanied by excess fat pockets and even separated abdominal muscles, depending on the case.

Reviewing results 12 months later can give a much clearer picture of what the procedure has achieved, as it is typically plenty of time to allow any residual swelling to subside. Our above before and after photos show one of Dr Magnusson’s abdominoplasty patients, who had a tailored, personalised procedure.

If you are interested in learning more about abdominoplasty, what the procedure process could involve and what it can achieve, you are welcome to enquire for a consultation with A/Prof Magnusson.

While there is no exact right time to address your eyelid concerns, such as excess tissue on the upper or lower eyelids, there are some requirements as to what makes a suitable candidate.

Firstly, suitable candidates will have excess skin around the eyes that they either would like to address for cosmetic purposes or to address discomfort, for example, when excess tissue is creating heavy upper eyelids. Candidates should also have a realistic outlook for the results of the procedure, be in good health, and be able to follow preparation and recovery instructions to support healing.

During a consultation with Dr Magnusson, you’ll be able to carefully discuss your suitability for the procedure and receive advice on whether or not it is the right time for surgery. To enquire, please feel free to reach out to our team.

Are you thinking about having abdominoplasty surgery? Taking a look at your chosen surgeon’s before and after photos can help you understand what the procedure is designed to achieve.

As one of A/Prof Magnusson’s previous abdominoplasty patients, the patient pictured here had a tailored procedure plan for personalised surgery to address tissue laxity following massive weight loss. The procedure can target fat pockets, excess skin, and sometimes address separated abdominal muscles, if needed.

We always recommend referring to previous patient examples as a general guide, and not a direct reference for the results that you may achieve. Every patient is unique - and so are surgery results!

If you would like to discuss the details of what a personalised abdominoplasty surgery plan may look like for you, and the results the procedure can achieve, please get in touch with our team to schedule a consultation with Specialist Plastic Surgeon and Associate Professor Dr Magnusson.

After a breast augmentation (mammoplasty) with implants, it’s common to need a revision at some time in the future.

Sometimes, a previous patient may need a breast revision procedure to remove breast implants due to complications, (like capsular contracture or implant rupture), or decide to have a breast revision due to a change of personal preference, such as to switch to a different implant size.

Essentially, there are multiple options when it comes to having a breast revision and removing previous implants - you may like to just remove the implants and decide not to replace them, you may like to replace them with new implants of the same size, projection and shape, or you may like to adjust the size.

There are even more options available when it comes to breast revision surgery - such as the option to combine the procedure with another breast procedure, like a breast lift (mastopexy), or combine replacing implants with fat grafting to subtly increase volume or improve contour.

You can learn all about your options during a consultation with A/Prof Magnusson. Please get in touch with our team at your preferred location to arrange your consultation!

An abdominoplasty can address fat concerns, as well as excess skin and separated abdominal muscles (diastasis recti).

Your procedure would be distinctly tailored to your individual needs, your preferences and procedure goals. During a consultation, the experienced Specialist Plastic Surgeon and Associate Professor Dr Mark Magnusson will examine your abdominal area and discuss what you hope to achieve.

Dr Magnusson can then plan a tailored procedure, which may include the repair of abdominal muscles, which can assist in improving abdominal support and core function. It’s important to understand that an abdominoplasty is not a weight loss procedure – it is typically suitable for those who are at a healthy weight and are seeking functional and aesthetic improvements not achievable through exercise or lifestyle changes alone.

If you would like to discuss what your abdominoplasty procedure can be designed to achieve, please get in touch with our team to arrange your consultation with Dr Magnusson.

15/05/2025

While you may have just heard of a facelift (rhytidectomy) and neck lift (platysmaplasty), there are actually a variety of options when it comes to how the procedures can be performed - and what they can be tailored to address.

A facelift (rhytidectomy) can be performed as a standard procedure, which can be suitable for moderate tissue laxity and fine lines. However, other options can include procedures that address the deeper layers - such as a deep plane facelift, which can be a suitable option for more significant signs of ageing, as it is designed to provide more stability and can lead to longer-lasting results.

As for a neck lift (platysmaplasty), the procedure can be performed to target the neck alone - however, it is often combined with a facelift (rhytidectomy) to achieve balanced, comprehensive results. Commonly, if there are signs of tissue laxity on the neck, it often extends to the lower face or mid face, which a combined approach can target.

To learn more about the options for your customised, tailored surgery plan, please contact our team to book a consultation with A/Prof Magnusson at your preferred location.
