🌟 Looking After Your Mental Health Online—and Offline 🌟
In the lead-up to R U OK? Day this Thursday, it’s a good reminder to check in with ourselves and each other. 💛
Recent research shows that nearly two-thirds of Australians, especially young people, turn to social media for mental health tips. While it can be helpful, endless scrolling can also leave us feeling anxious or overwhelmed.
Here are some simple ways to protect your mental wellbeing:
✔️ Clean up your feed – follow accounts that make you feel good, and unfollow those that don’t.
✔️ Set boundaries – turn off notifications, and give yourself screen-free time.
✔️ Stay connected – talk to friends, family, and spend time outdoors.
✔️ Reach out – if you’re struggling, your GP is here to listen and help.
💬 Remember, you don’t need to wait until R U OK? Day to check in with someone. A simple, caring conversation can make a big difference.
📍 Toowoomba Medical Centre – welcoming new patients.
