🌿 We’re Growing – Welcome Ro to the Team 🐴

We’re incredibly excited to welcome Róisín (Ro) to Animal Instincts Australia as our Equine Assisted Counsellor, starting 4th June 2026

Ro brings a wealth of experience and a deeply trauma-informed approach to her work. Originally from Ireland and now based in Australia, she holds a Bachelor in Psychology and a Diploma of Counselling, with a strong background supporting individuals and families navigating complex life circumstances.

Her experience spans:
• Domestic and family violence support
• Complex mental health
• Substance use and family impact
• Homelessness and marginalisation

Ro is passionate about creating safe, inclusive spaces where people feel seen, heard, and respected, and where real, meaningful change can happen.

Through equine-assisted counselling, Ro supports individuals to:
✨ Build emotional awareness and regulation
✨ Strengthen self-worth and resilience
✨ Reconnect with identity and personal agency
✨ Experience connection in a powerful, non-judgemental way

This is a beautiful addition to what we already offer here on the farm — combining professional counselling with the grounding, honest feedback that horses provide.

📅 Taking bookings now for a Thursday 4th June start date (weekly or fortnightly bookings available). Sessions can be privately funded or billed to NDIS.
📧 Email hayley@animalinstinctsaustralia.com
to enquire or secure a spot

We’re really looking forward to the impact this work will have for so many individuals and families in our community 💛

A bit of a real update from us.

Right now, we have more than 60 young people sitting on our waitlist.

Many of these young people have been waiting since last year.

That’s 60+ kids and families who need support — and are still waiting.

We feel that. Every single day.

Because we see what happens when young people do get through our gates.

They gain tools.
They build trust — in themselves and others.
They start to shift.

Through connection with animals, time on the land, real work, and practical life skills… we see genuine transformation happen.

That’s why this matters.

Behind the scenes, we’ve been putting in the work to grow this properly — not just faster, but better. Building the structure, the programs, and the capacity to support more young people in a way that actually lasts.

It might look quiet from the outside, but it’s not.

There’s a lot happening — and we’re getting closer.

If you’ve been following what we do and want to be part of it — whether that’s through a donation, a connection, or simply sharing our work — it genuinely helps us reach more young people who need it.

We’re not there yet… but we’re getting there.

Something special is growing 🌿

We are proud to introduce The Willows Housing Collective — a supportive shared living option in Toowoomba for people with a disability seeking greater independence, connection, and a place to truly feel at home.

Designed to provide a calm and respectful household environment, The Willows offers a meaningful option for people whose needs are not always met by standard housing models, with supports available where suitable.

Created with heart, dignity, and a genuine understanding of the needs within our community.

Initial places will be limited to ensure the right household fit.

If you, your family, or someone you know may be interested, we welcome private enquiries and expressions of interest.

Please contact us to learn more.
