Today is Wear It Purple® Day! On the last Friday in August, workplaces, schools, orgs, and individuals all over the country go purple to celebrate, stand with, and show up for LGBTQIA+ young people.

Why? Because even today (especially today), it can be tough to be a q***r young person. You need only have a quick scroll online to see how far we still have to go, despite how far we’ve come.

Which is why this year, purple is more than a colour. It’s a promise, to show up for q***r youth – every day of the year. To build inclusive spaces, workplaces, schools, and communities.

Will you make the promise? There’s still time to take our Purple Pledge, to put on a splash of purple, and to send a vital message of support to q***r young people.

Last Thursday, our team at Sage Support Coordination participated in the Cancer Council’s Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea. This fundraiser by the Cancer Council aimed to raise vital funds to make a difference for those impacted by cancer.

As a bit of a Sage twist, all staff competed in a bake off to fundraise! Everyone got baking (or buying) sweets and these were auctioned off amongst our team. We had a lot of fun, raised awareness, learnt more about the impacts of cancer and how raised funds make a difference. At the end of a great morning tea, we raised an impressive $892 from all our baked sweets 💛💙
